What do you take into the parks with you?

Although I don't want to have a huge backpack or anything when we go to the parks, I do realize that there are some things we should take with us. I would like to try to bring the minimum amount of "stuff" with us. Both of my boys and I will have a fashionable - I mean functional - fanny pack to take to the parks with them so I can avoid being the family pack animal. What do you take with you? Any suggestions are appreciated. TIA

My children carry 1 bottle of water, one juice box and a couple small snack items in their bags each day.

I carry in my "bigger" pack, Extra water and snacks, camera, pins for DSs to trade, bandages (you never know), chapstick, pipecleaners, zip lock baggies, tylenol and gum.

This pretty much takes care of us throughout the day.

In the past I have taken lots of extra stuff with me to the parks but this year I am planning on taking less.
I already have some things packed
rain ponchos
sunscreen ( but I don't take the big bottle I get little sample bottles and fill them up to use during the day to reapply)
fans
camera
motrin
imodiam ad
water bottle (we just take one and keep refilling it so we have less to carry)
I don't plan on taking snacks this year , we didn't need them last year. We were on the dining plan and had too much to eat.
I am sure I will find more but those are the important ones I can think of right now.

In my beltbag - cash, Photo Pass card, room key, park ticket (if bought separately), debit card, credit card, ID - all in a little itsy bitsy 7-pocket credit card holder; digital camera; cell phone; gum; Australian Gold sunscreen stick SPF 30 I believe which also doubles as lip balm! I also pack a Ziploc bag so my beltbag won't get soaked on certain things, and I always wear my sunglasses. Edit: I forgot the all-important blister block stick, band-aids because it's a given I'll injure myself, and Advil as I am the migrane queen!

If I have a bigger pack, which would be my Nike drawstring nylon backpack, I'd add - spray sunscreen; bug spray; peanut butter crackers; 2nd digital camera; a makeup bag with lip balm, portable finger toothbrush slip-on things called FreshenUp, floss, Listerine pocket spray, and a mirror and lipstick; sunglasses/baseball hat.

I thought I had everything, but I can't imagine what these would be for.
Pipecleaners make all kinds of neat things and amuse children waiting in lines or for meals!!!

We take $$$, IDs, KTTW cards, ponchos, a change of clothes for DD, wipes, a small first aid kit, camera/extra batteries/extra memory, ziploc bag to protect the camera on wet rides, bottled water, sunscreen, lip balm, cystal light packets and snacks. At night, we add glow sticks to the mix.

Fannie pack--chapstick, misc cards, tickets, advil, pen, bandaids, camera.

bag underneath stroller--water,juice boxes, snacks for the little one, extra clothing for her as well, autograph book, and if we are going to AK Water shoes

I do the parks with my youngest so in a small two pocket backpack I bring:

Water bottle
Ziploc bag
Two rain ponchos in a ziploc bag
Small handheld electronic game
Two small fans

Notecard with the day's plan and ADR
Coin purse

It all fits in the small backpack nicely. :)

chapstick
hair tyes
camera and camcorder
sweatshirt (in case it gets chilly in dec)
ponchos (in case it's very cold and we want to stay as dry as possible on water rides)
snacks
water bottle
cash
credit cards
room keys/park tickets
deodorant
hand sanitizer
extra pair of shoes/socks (I like to switch it up in the middle of the day)

That's right! I hand them to my kids while waiting for our meals! It keeps them busy.

I use a little bag (Disney, of course) that clips to a belt loop. Room key, pass, debit card, cash, eyedrops, chapstick... that's about it. I travel light.

Ooooo, great idea. Must remember to stock up on pipe cleaners.:rotfl:

The best purchase we made is a small cooler backpack- it fits about five bottles of water plus a baggy of ice. Even in summer, our drinks stay cool all day!!:thumbsup2

not nearly as much as the other people i guess.
in my small shoulder bag

i never bring too much in, i would even like to cut this down some. we alwyas go back to the room at least once so i get anything i might need.

Last time we went I brought with me a small table cloth from Dollar store. This was a hit with the kids. They were able to sit on it(flannel side up) while we waited for parade or anytime they were tired of standing. Then I just threw it away at end of trip.

I usually wear a backpack with the following items:

  • Poncho/Raincoat
  • Cell Phone
  • Water
  • Chapstick
  • Camera (in camera bag)
  • Extra Batteries
  • Extra Memory for Camera
  • Maps/Guides/Misc Other Papers
  • Bandages

Besides the items in the backpack, I of course have ID/Money/Park Tickets

DW & I switch off during the trip taking turns carrying the backpack.

Usually I bring a small sling purse with chapstick, wallet, poncho, camera, cell phone. This time it will only be me. I realized I could hook my camera bag on my belt and stick my credit cards/money and chapstick inside the case. That way my hands will be free!
