What do you set your heat at?

We keep our heat on about 70 and less when we are not at home and then at night the heat gets bumped up to like 72. My DH is gets cold easily, and I tend to be warm. Our house is well insulated. We only have gas for water and heat and so far our bills have not been that bad. My in-laws tend to set the heat on 76, but at there house I am constantly burning up.

We have had high electic bills in the summer though.

We set it at 75 -- we don't pay for it.

aaahh, I miss base housing in the cold winters!!

It's at 66 when we are home - 63 or so when we aren't. I cannot stand it to be over like 68 - way too warm for me. I about cried when I read some of you are in the 70's! I would SWELTER!!!! It's comfy in my house - and we face north!! With drafty windows (that we plastic-ized yesterday..)

DH likes it at about 68, I like it around 72-I usually try to keep it at 69ish.
At night it gets turned waaay down to like 58. I like it cold when I sleep, as does evefryone else here. It automatically goes back up around 6:30am.
I am always cold, I don't even turn the a/c on unless it's like 95 degrees, no exxageration, but 72 is okay as I am always in a turtleneck sweater in the winter.

Can I ask why you would set it lower at night? I can see lowering it during the day when the sun is out and your not home, but why freeze all night long? If I had my thermostat as low as some of you I would constantly be sick with colds and ear aches!!

We don't freeze all night long-I am in warm Pjs, under a sheet, a warm blanket and a big fluffly comforter. I need the weight of all those blankets to be comfy to sleep.
If my heat was above 65 I'd be sweltering at night.

Last year, 72. This year, 68. We'll see how it goes!
