Hello everyone,
My BFF's son was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 3 years old. He has officially, and FINALLY, finished his 3 years of treatment! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: He is in tentative remission until he come up clear for 5 years straight, then will be in official full remission THANK GOD! It's been a rough 3 years. T

THey are having a party for him on Superbowl Sunday. Unfortunately, I can't be there :sad1: . They live in Southern CA, I live in Northern CA. I want to send them something, this is a HUGE DEAL! I have NO IDEA what to do for them though. I've thought about sending one of those Edible Arrangements, but it seems cheesy. Any suggestions?

How about Disney Infinity?

Love this idea.

Also, a trip to RideMakerz in Downtown Disneyland would be awesome.

I just bought my daughter one of Towmater at Downtown Disney Orlando and she had a blast making it.

Both really really good ideas, but he has the Disney Infinity and has been to Ride Makers several times.

A little back story:
When he was diagnosed, his parents, in an effort to help their then 3 year old son understand what was wrong, referred to his Cancer as "The Dragon" (How to Train Your Dragon had just come out in the theaters) and that he was going to have to SLAY this bad dragon that was trying to grow in him. So, he became the superhero and took a sward to his treatments (and a couple of teddy bears).

He doesn't "need" anything per-say, but I want to do something either for him or the family just to show my joy for the end of his treatments.

Yeah, I don't know really. I think anything you do the message will be conveyed. Giving something in his name may be cool. I know the parents would understand the gesture and most likely the son would see helping other kids get better as a cool thing.

Was he a CHOC patient? Maybe a donation to CHOC Walk in his name. Or a donation to the hospital in his name.

That's wonderful news for your friend's family.

I have a 9-year-old daughter is just crazy for dragons, especially the Toothless/Hiccup books. She's homeschooled, and in the classroom is a picture of a really cool white dragon with a quote that reads: Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten. It is credited to a G.K. Chesterton.

You could frame that quote for the parents. For the little boy a super-cool knight costume (you can buy How to Train Your Dragon shields and helmets also). Maybe get some fairy tale storybooks to send with it all.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! I LOVE THIS! I am totally going to do this! Thank you so much!!

Just wanted to let you all know, I ordered a custom poster from Zazzle with the quote on it. I selected a simple Oriental dragon print with the quote over the top of it. Thanks again for the AWESOME idea!
