I made meatloaf for dinner tonight and began to wonder what everyone else puts on top.

I make a lemon juice, worcestershire sauce, ketchup and brown sugar mixture.

What about you?

I do few different things but my usuals are
mustard vinegar and brown sugar
barbeque sauce or
bacon

Crescent rolls and then I serve it with brown gravy.

I love my meatloaf. I make it with ground beef, peppers, onions, Bell's stuffing, eggs, ketchup with a cheddar cheese tunnel, and I put undiluted, canned, Campbell's tomato soup on top.

Dawn what is Bell's stuffing? Can I find it you think in NJ? That sounds yummy.

Mine is smothered in BBQ sauce and bacon.

A cheddar cheese tunnel? Mmmmm.

I might have to try that.
Unfortunately, the smell of yellow cheese hasn't mixed well with this pregnancy...

We're usually a meatloaf when it's cold outside type of people... but I wonder how meatloaf with a cheddar cheese tunnel would taste in June? :rotfl:

I use a habanero based barbeque sauce that adds plenty of zip to mine.

Mozzerella cheese in the middle with Ragu on top is pretty good.

I always top it with Barbeque sauce (which I also put into my meatloaf) and some sea salt.

Its actually season turkey/chicken stuffing. You can find it in a red box. It looks like this. It is so much better than plain old bread crumbs. The flavor is wonderful in meatloaf. I just pour enough in until I like the consistancy. I use it for meatballs too.

I like a crispy meat crust, so I don't put any topping on before baking. We usually eat it with ketchup or brown gravy though.

I make Mexican Meatloaf with bread crumbs, onion, egg, salsa (or taco sauce), and shredded cheddar cheese. I put either salsa or taco sauce on top.

Nothing!

But, that is how my mom made it. And I don't like it. So maybe I'll get some ideas here....:rotfl2:

Here's one for you.
2Lbs. grond beef
1 egg
1/4 cup HP sauce
1 cup bread crumbs
Put everything in a bowl except for about 1/8 of the cup of bread crumbs.
mix up all other ingredients
Put into pan then sprinkle the remaining bread crumbs on top of the meatloaf.
Put in the oven and bake for 70 mins. at 350
DH kids and everyone else shows up when I am making meatloaf and DH friends want to stay and be fed. Since most are single I allow this.
However I have now started to make 2 meatloaves on these nights.
That way there is enough to go around and if I am lucky a little bit of leftover for lunches.:yay:

What is HP sauce? HP either stands for Hewlett Packard or Harry Potter in my house. :teeth:
