I don't know if you need the info for Canada as well, but here it is :

Milk: 7$ a gallon
Bread: 3$ for plain white bread,
Eggs: 3,29 a dozen
Applesn sale, usually between 0.99 to 1.69 a pound
Lettuce: 2.99, but can be found at 0.99 a head on sale

We live near Montreal, Quebec.

at the milk prices for all of you.. Wegman's is always on "sale" for $1.99. I think the Aldi across the street is a bit more but not much.

Apples this year are crazy. It's often over $1 for one, and that's for locally grown.

Milk : $2.99/gallon
Bread : $2.99-3.29
Eggs : $1.79-1.99
Apples : $0.99/lb (usually for Fuji or Gala)
Lettuce : $0.99/head

These are the normal prices on everything. For milk & eggs, that's store-brand (the name-brand non-organic stuff is ridiculously priced and I don't buy milk much anyway), but those prices are very steady. The apples can often be found cheaper, 69-79 cents/lb. Never seen regular iceberg lettuce go lower or higher than $1.

Milk: $3.75/gallon, Publix brand
Bread: I usually get Sara Lee bread on sale 2/$4. It stays fresh longer than the store brand.
Eggs: $1.69/dozen for large eggs, Publix brand
Apples: $1.29/lb for Red Delicious apples (on sale)
Lettuce: $1.69/head

Ok, I'm going to revise my list a bit, since I went grocery shopping today and bought all the things listed.

Milk ~ $3.29
Bread ~ 2/$5 on sale (bought different brand, since I decided $4.25 for one loaf was insane).
Eggs ~ $2.29 cage free
Apples ~ 78 cents/lb on sale for Braeburns (my favorite)
Lettuce ~ $1.99 a head

This is Central New York (Syracuse). Checked my last receipt from Wegmans for the first three items - apples are this week's price at Tops. Lettuce is the best I can recall.

I also shop at Aldi, where all of these are typically cheaper.

Milk: $2.89 (1%)
Bread: $1.99 (white made w/ whole grain)
Eggs: $1.79 per dozen (large)
Apples: $0.99/lb. (granny smith, red delicious) and up
Lettuce: $0.99 (head of iceberg)

Bread - 2.45 for Nature's Own
Eggs - about 1.50 for store brand, we buy cage free for about $3/dozen
Apples - just bought gala for 1.79 /lb and Honeycrisp for 3.99/lb!
Lettuce - $3 for a bag of romaine hearts (regular and organic are about the same price, but the organic bag is a little smaller)

Milk - £1 ($1.60) for 2 litres (1/2 gallon)
Bread - £1.19 ($1.90 ) for a large sliced sandwich loaf (white and wholemeal are the same price)
Eggs - £2.50 ($4.00) for 15 mixed size free range eggs
Apples - £1.09 ($1.75) per pound (Braeburns)
Iceberg or Romaine per head - £1.00 ($1.60)

Bread: $2/loaf (Aunt Millies or Koepplinger on sale; store brands can be had for $1)
Eggs: $2.50/doz (pasture raised, direct from the farm)
Apples: $1-2/lb, more for "fancy" varieties like Honeycrisp
Lettuce: $1/head for iceburg, $3/bag of romaine hearts

Lettuce-I don't normally buy this since we buy the bagged saled at Aldi's for79-99 cents. I did buy a head at Giant Eagle for 88 cents 2 days ago however for tacos.

This is Youngstown, halfway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. I know my prices pretty well. And friends and neighbors complain how expensive Giant Eagle is. Seeing the prices all over, I am glad. And I don't normally shop at Aldi's just pick my rockbottom prices there. Everything on sale at Giant Eagle gets me in the door.

Granted I buy some of it on base but......

Milk I get on base for @ $3 a half gallon
Bread I don't usually buy it but when I do buy it, I buy it out in town for around 200 Yen = $2.30 for half a load. It is way yummy bread
Eggs: I buy out in town and 30 eggs at a time. 30 eggs for 630 Yen = $6.90, which means I pay @ $2.30 for a dozen.
Lettuce, when you can get it(on base or out in town) ranges from $2-$5

Apples - $0.69 each for huge double fist size most varieties (Honey Crisp is $1.29 each) or you can get a 3 pound bag of small fist sized apples for around $3 most varieties. Trader Joes

Lettuce - I haven't bought iceberg in forever, but I *think* it was around $1.50 at Trader Joes. The 3 pack of Romaine is $1.99 regular and $2.99 organic. They've got some great bagged mixed greens for around $1.99 also.

As an offshoot of another project my dd's are interested in the prices of groceries across the country. They decide to try and find out the prices of these five different things. If anyone is willing to help, please respond with the prices you find in your area, and your geographic area rural, suburban, city, would help too if it is not obvious. For instance we would be Northeastern PA - Suburban. Size, brand etc. will vary and change the price but just what you normally pay for your normal brand, or in the case of apples and lettuce price per pound, not hard science here we're just working on creating and reading data from charts and graphs (and discussing the limitations of this information actually helps!) Also, if you know a few off hand but not another feel free to respond- some helps!
