We are thinking about bringing some food like poptarts, granola bars, individual cereal bowls to eat breakfast in our rooms or quickly eat at the foodcourt to move things along in the morning/save money.
What else do you think is manageable for packing for a flight?
How do you pack your resort mugs to take into the parks? We don't want to take them back to the room if we can avoid it and it would help out when we get back to the resort to get hot chocolate on the way back to the rooms.
Wat other snackable foods do you bring? Remember we are flying.
TIA

That was the issue with the refillable mug. I had to lug it around in a backpack while we were at the parks. I ended up throwing it away.

We usually bring the individual cereal bowls, and some kind of bars. We just buy the fruit in the food court when we get there.

If you're planning to bring anything in liquid, gel or cream form on a plane, you'll need to put it in checked luggage (and pack it so that it doesn't get broken). No liquids, gels or creams will be permitted through airport security in carry on luggage.

When I had a refillable mug, I never took it to the parks. It is too much trouble to haul it around. If you plan to carry a backpack daily, you could put the mugs in there.

we went to Pop Century in September and We saw alot of people with families that had their pkgs of bagels and bread that were not purchased at the stores at the resort. You could do that and the individual cereal bowls and just get your milk at the resort coolers.....as far as bagels and toast......alot of people did this......also they sell individual pkgs of pop corn to pop .....so why not bring some of those and put them in your suitcase..they are nice and flat and will fit in the empty areas in your suitcase......

Just some ideas for your breakfasts and snacks later...

send someone to the food court to fill up the mugs while everyone is getting dressed and leave the mugs int he room. They are big and bulky!!

We stopped getting mugs, just wasn't worth the hassle, esp if you were located far from the food court

We usually pick up a pack of bagels in the resort store (not the food court) and cream cheese and just eat it in the room. I don't need mine toasted though

the other options you mentioned are great to throw in your pack and go. I love to just head off and grab something later to eat. Cosmic Rays starts serving burgers around 10-10:30....mmmm breakfast burgers :rotfl2:

Milk is usually cheaper at the resort store than the food court....1/2 gallons of milk that is. We take regular size boxes of cereal from home an throw away bowls an spoons...

We take poptart, cereal bars, packs of crackers (cracker nabs as they're called here in East TN) and similar items. One year we brought DS a box of cereal and a bowl and bought a half gallon of milk in the food court. We've also bought a box of Entermann's donuts in the food court.

Our first couple of trips we would make a trip to a grocery store and get some items. We usually ended up buying way too much and had to throw some of it away. After that we started bringing our own.

We bring cereal, cereal bars etc. when we come. We also bring bowls and spoons with us. We have milk, yougurt, fruit etc. delivered by Garden Grocers.

Sometimes we bring the Quaker Oatmeal Cookies, they come in chocolate chip or raisin

I have brought packets of instant oatmeal, they take up less space than boxes of cereal, even the individual boxes. they're really easy to make in the microwave in the food court. I'm the only one that will eat oatmeal anymore though, so we'll be bringing cereal too when we go in January. I have low blood sugar issues, so I also bring Powerbars with extra protein in them for a mid-morning snack, rather than buying something more expensive and fattening in the parks.

lots of great breakfast ideas already posted. As to the mug I bring a few napkins to stuff inside the cup when I done with it and it either sits in a mesh cup holder on the stroller or hangs off my fanny pack. It's not the most attractive of looks but it does work! :thumbsup2

We always drive and take all of our drinks that we need for outside the parks even take our own drink into the food court when we eat there.

Loaf of bread an jar of peanut butter goes along ways in the room an needs no fridge.

I know someone who had a package shipped to her hotel with their food products in it so they would not have to worry about shopping while there or lugging it all along on the plane.

Check out your resorts gift shop (NOT the food court), they usually have Thomas' Bagels (6 in a pkg). My boys LOVE bagels for breakfast and don't like the WDW bagels. So I know all about these :rotfl: If your resort doesn't sell them, check out other resorts. One time I found them in the gift shop of the WL. Also, if your head to the Boardwalk, they have a general store that sells more food items than other stores (due to the villas). They have a large selection of Entermann donuts and pastries in many resorts.

I usually take a few bagels to the food court and toast them up. I ask for a plate and have offered many times to purchase butter but the CMs always tell me to just take it.

I also pack cereal in the bowls, oatmeal breakfast cookies, breakfast bars, etc...

Due to my little one needing diapers, I usually ship a box full of stuff to the resort. One box 5 day ground usually costs me $10. I always throw in stuff like room air freshner, kitchen garbage bags (when dining in the room, you need a large garbage bag), a $1 store nightlight, crackers, gum, etc....

If your on the dining plan, don't forget you can use a snack credit for a breakfast pastry.

I throw my mug in the stroller, otherwise I'd leave it in the room

Didn't you forget the ziplocks? :rotfl: ;)

I love that idea to send yourself you supply's!

As far as the mugs..... we were on the DxDP and had no need for our mugs in the parks........ a few days we tossed them in the strollers but most of the time they were in the room since we don't drink much soda or pop.

My friend gave us a great tip on the refill mugs-----she brings a bag w/her and puts the mugs in it when finished; she then drops it off at luggage service at the hotel-they pick it up at the end of the day and just walk in the food court ready to go. Most of the food courts have an area to rinse out the mugs. I thought this was a great tip---no more lugging the mugs around all day or sending DH running back to the room to drop them off.:rotfl:

We brought cereal bars, oatmeal squares and dried fruit. I got coffee (if you can call it that - bleh!) from the food court at Pop in the morning. I also had some nuts/trail mix and jerky for nibbles around the parks - when I didn't want DIsney snacks. I had the food in checked luggage, which meant more room for souvenirs on the return trip!

This Jan. we are staying at CBR, so I will probably buy some milk and other stuff for b-fast and keep it in the fridge.

This may be a TMI but honestly the best thing we brought on our disney trip for breakfast for DH, me, and my girls 4 and 7 were Fiber one bars. One thing I've always found is that we all get constipated on vacation just from lack of fruits and vegetables and quite frankly just all the junk we eat. We brought the chocolate chip, peanut butter, and caramel ones. We each grabbed one in the morning and headed out. Gave us the needed energy as well but we were pretty hungry by about 11 or 12 every day.

When we go with the grandkids we take packets of instant oatmeal...they LOVE the stuff, and eat it with tap water every morning here at home :scared1: and then we get fruit from the food court. We pick up bagels for the adults, as we are not big breakfast eaters.
As far as the refillable mugs: we buy them, but when we are headed for the parks we use styrofoam cups. We know that we paid, we carry the receipts in case anyone asks, but we don't want to lug them or take them back to the room. So while we may look like heathens to the mug police, we did indeed pay our price. I so wish they would go back to individualized resort mugs; we love them.
