....grandma and grandpa?

My DS calls both of his grandma's Mima (pronounced Me-Ma), he calls his great grandma Grammy and his other ggm grandma. He calls his one grandpa pop-pop and the other one grandpa.

When I was growing up I called all of mine grandpa and grandma.

My kids call my parents Nana and Pa.
They call my in-laws Grammy and Grampie.

My kids call my mom Grandma, my dad is Pa. Their dad's dad is PawPaw. Their Granny Lora passes away 7 1/2 years ago.

When my dd was little, she used to call my mom Grand-ma-ma (like on Bewitched). That's what my mom wanted to be called. But she calls her Grandma know.

I called my mom and dad's moms my MawMaws and my mom's dad my PawPaw (my dad's dad died before he could see most of us ).

DGS call us Nana and Grandpa.

DGD calles me Babcia (pronounced Baab-cha) and DH is called Dzadiziu (sp) (pronounced Ja-Ju). (Polish)

We call(ed) my mom's side Nanna Mae & Papa Paul. My dad's side was simply grandma & grandpa.

My DH called his grandparents Abuelita Lucia & Abuelito José and Abuelita Margot (his other grandfather had died before he was born).

My kids only have my Mom. And they call her DeeDee. She was there a lot when my DS was born. First he said DA DA, then he created DeeDee for my Mom. She loves it. And they have a really special bond.

My kids call my parents Grandma and Pa (my dd couldn't say Grandpa, so Pa it was and still is.)

DH's parents are Granny and Granddad.

I know a lot of people call their grandmothers Nana, well, our dog is named Nana after the dog in Peter Pan. We get pretty strange looks when were out in public and we say we need to go home to take Nana out to pee!

My DH parents they call Grandma Judy & Dza-Dza (polish)
My parents are Grandma Marge & Pa-Pa Jack.
No great grandparents anymore but when DH's grandfather was alive they called him Great Pa-Pa Don.

For Mo, my dad and stepmom are Grandma and Grandpa. Chris' parents are Grandma and Grandpa as well. My mom is Nana. My grandpa to Mo is Grandpa Great and my Mom's mom is Grammy.

My Grandma was just Grandma and Grandpa was Grandpa was Grandpa Darl.
My dads parents I only saw twice I only remember once we called them Jean and Arthur. sad.

Since Meg was the oldest grandchild, she set the stage for my parents names. She had a hard time saying Grandma and instead said Mama (pronouncing it Maamaa). And then she tagged my Dad, Buppa. She called my late Grandmother Memere (French).

Jim's Mom is Nana and his Dad was Papa.

The kids call my parents Grandpa Bill and Grandma Pat (she passed away 2 1/2 years ago) and they call my in-laws Grandpa Joe and Grandma Joyce when they refer to them. It is always Grandma and Grandpa when they speak with them.

When I was little I called my Dad's mom, Mimmie and my Mom's mom, Nanny. It is funny how we all have similar or unusual names for these people, but how special in our hearts they are

My DD now almost 20 started the tradition in our extended family of using Grandma or Grandpa and then their given name or nickname. Thus her Great Grandma and Grandpa are/were Grandma Pat and Grandpa Shorty, which they loved more than how we addressed them with Grandma/pa and their last name. My cousin in VA however objected to this for his children as it was disrespectful in his eyes. Grandma Pat was a little saddened by his decision, but respected it. I called her Grandma Bowman up until my daughter changed all our minds and she is now Grandma Pat to me too(we lost Grandpa Shorty).
DH's parents and my parents are also tagged the same way with Grandma/pa followed by given or nickname and they all like it.
