Not paying for the tip. No extra expenses. But if given a choice I would rather have an appy than a dessert.

Another vote for the tip, it made budgeting so much easier & while I like a good desert, I would prefer to have a choice between it & an appetizer.

I wouldn't be surprised if this gets moved...the mods usually jump in with "all tipping discussions to the tipping thread"

I voted for appetizers. I have little interest in dessert with my meal, since I always use my snack credits for ice cream sundaes. That's enough sweets in one day. I would much, much rather have a salad. No need to remind me of the fruit salad option for dessert, I still would prefer a salad.

I miss the tip the most. I also agree that I would rather have an appetizer than a dessert, even if they limited the appetizer choices to salad or soup only. I like to have a salad before my meal, but rarely have dessert.

Definitely the tip. I would love to have the choice of ordering an appetizer OR a dessert with the TS meal. We just can't eat all those desserts at Disney!

Because it is meant to allow a family to pay for their meals in advance, the tip. Without this, one has to budget additional money, sometimes over $100/day, for tips.

That said, I wonder why they don't allow a patron to choose between apps and desserts instead of only allowing desserts... :confused3

In my opinion, "I wish the tip was still included in the dining plan" or "I liked the dining plan better when the tip was included" isn't a tipping discussion.

If the thread starts getting into discussions of how much one should or would tip, reasons for tipping or not tipping, or debates/complaints about tipping, then the thread may be moved or closed (or individual posts removed or edited if necessary).

Because, if they did, a party on the regular dining plan would order half appetizers and half desserts and share them. No savings of time or money for Disney there. Desserts are cheaper to produce and serve than appetizers, and with only two courses in the basic dining plan the tables can be turned over faster. They did come up with the deluxe dining plan, which includes appetizers AND desserts. Disney probably feels the extra outlay of cash from deluxe plan users justifies their taking more time at the table to eat all three courses.

Good points. Thank you for your perspective...:goodvibes

I hate trying to guess what we will need for tips!:scared1: Also I would really like a choice between appetizer or dessert.:goodvibes

As others said, definitely miss the tip. I really dislike having to include that at the end of the meal. Part of the point of the plan to me is to make budgeting easier. Taking this off was really annoying.

I'd also rather have an appy than dessert, but I can live with that.

I miss the tips being included most, but I wish they would give a choice between the appetizer and dessert. I would normally only order dessert ~25% of the time.

The tip!
I liked that everything was paid for/budgeted in advance.
