My parents were members at OKW in 1994- great childhood memories there.
What do yall miss about the DVC experience from the 1990s?

wasn't a member then, but watching some of the original videos it appears exchanges out of disney were initially more emphasized and more affordable and had some really incredible options like the Mackinac Hotel and Woodstock Inn...

I also dislike the idea that DVC has become essentially Disney's accounting trick for financing the hotels and would have preferred it more resemble the traditional timeshare with big rooms...

We bought in 1992. That was an unbelievable perk! I believe it ran for seven years, but I could be wrong.
Yes, through 1999. Unbelievable perk, but also a great sales item!

What I might miss most about 90s DVC (we bought 93) is it truly was a relaxed and absolutely no pressure sales experience. The DVC approach today is different - not as pressure-filled as many other timeshare sales people, but much more than it used to be. Our first visit and review was relaxed, a nice experience, and ended with free ice cream sundaes at the ice cream bar they had at OKW (called Disney Vacation Club then!)......!!

Yes, child care during our visit, a family photo (see my avatar), and ice cream at the end!! It was the best timeshare sales presentation we've ever been to.
