What do you mean your throat hurts?!? Your throat can't hurt, we're at Disney!!

Hey Jeana! Can't wait to hear the rest! Hopefully I'll have your photopass pics to you soon. I'm waiting to hear back from them about pictures that were not there from our card! So I'll be ordering it either Mon or Tues!

Thanks Julie, I can't wait to get our cd's. I hope they find your missing pics!! :goodvibes

Wow! Those views are breathtaking! What a great surprise!

Wow, that was some Disney magic on the room. Fantastic Views!

Thanks guys! Now just to be clear, those pics were taken from the 4th floor deck, not our room. If I had that view from my room I might have never left. For anyone who has never been to the Lodge before: when you take the elevator from the lobby to the 4th floor, and go right as soon as you exit the elevator, you are walking across an open balcony overlooking the lobby on your left and to your right large windows with a door leading onto a large deck with chairs which is where I took those outside pics. Amazing views on the way to your room instead of just walking down hallways. I hope that made sense.

Wow -- what beautiful views! Even if they aren't from your room, they're spectacular! And how neat that you did have a room with a Wishes fireworks viwe!

Magic Kingdom and "My throat hurts!"

After we got our luggage in our room we headed down to the boat dock to catch the Magic Kingdom boat. It was hot but there was a nice breeze left over from all the rain the day before. We arrive at MK, have pics taken by photopass photographers, and headed towards Main Street. It wasn't quite 9:30 and the park wasn't very crowded at all. Krista met the Mayor and some lady all dressed up (don't quite know what part she plays), and we were off to Adventureland. Pirates of the Caribbean is always our first ride. pirate:
We get in line, which really wasn't a "line", maybe like ten people in front of us and ds looks at me and says, "My throat hurts." Now being the good mother I am I respond to this in the most logical manner possible, "Your throat can't hurt, your at Disney!"

Well, my ds decides to take a little different approach with me. He takes a deep breath and says, "It feels like I have strep." Here again I am the good mother and I tell him that is impossible because he just finished his antibiotics day before yesterday. There you have it, problem solved, he's fine!! :goodvibes It is at this point that he decides I have officially lost all reason and there is no point talking to me anymore. As we stand there I turn to my dh and I say, "He says his throat hurts, he says it feels like strep, I told him it can't hurt and it can't be strep. What do you want to do about this?" He had nothing helpful to say.

Being that I am not happy with the information I have just received and I don't know what exactly to do with this info, I do the only thing I can do. I pretend the conversations never took place. :rolleyes1
We finish the ride, head on to the next attraction and act like everything is fine.

Stay tuned for more and pictures are up next. ;)

Oh man I hate medical issues at Disney! I had to make a judgement call for my oldest daughter and decided to take her to an urgent care center. A whole Disney day...gone!

I love taking the boat around property rather then the buses! So peaceful!

And side note...I ordered the photopass CD today so hopefully I'll have it soon and can get your pics to you asap! (They couldn't locate our lost pics)! :(

I agree totally Stephanie, those views are to die for! I will be adding pics of Wishes from our room later on.

I know what you mean, medical issues at Disney stink. Who are we kidding, anything that throws us off course at Disney stinks. :upsidedow
I'm sorry they didn't find your pics. :sad2:

How did I miss your TR?!

Let's see...maybe because you are trying to write one yourself while keeping up with all of us from our little "July" click at the same time. :) Have you noticed there aren't enough hours in the day to do our normal activities and keep up with this computer. :surfweb: By the way, I am going to pm you with my email so you can send me a copy of that pic Tom took of us at Epcot.

subbing, please pass the popcorn popcorn::

Hi and welcome aboard!! So glad you could join in! :goodvibes

Still refusing to acknowledge sore throat!

At this point my ds has decided that I am going to do nothing to help him so he might as well continue on like nothing is wrong. Good boy! Meanwhile his sister has silently convinced herself that we are leaving within the next 24hrs, not eight days, and there is not enough time for her to do all that she feels must get done. :confused3 Now you really have to understand my dd to get the whole jest of this. She is drama central! Once she has convinced herself of something good luck changing her mind, she does not hear you! So we notice she looks a little frazzled and ask her if something is wrong. She tells us no that she would just like to go ride BTMR, then SM, then go to the resort and swim, then ride BTMR again, and maybe swim again. She says this like all of these places are side by side. We tell her to slow down, there will be plenty of time to do all she wants to do and she doesn't need to get everything done at once.

We decide to stop for lunch and Cosmic Rays looks to be a good choice, good food and air conditioning. I notice ds isn't eating much so I decide to take the positive approach. I say to him, "Your throat is feeling better now isn't it? :)" I smiled and was cheerful while I said this to him, more of a statement than a question. Didn't work , he tells me no he still thinks he has strep.

On to second child who is not eating. I ask her if she just isn't hungry. The answer is something along the lines of, "I don't have time to eat there's too much to do!"

Back to my original idea, I will ignore them both and any problems will disappear, because that is what good mothers do. ;)

So we finish out a few more rides at MK then head back to the resort to let the kids swim for awhile (since dd may not get to swim if we don't do it now!) We had dinner at Chef Mickey's which I will have to say was a disappointment this time. We waited thirty minutes after we were done eating to see all the characters. Our server acted like he really didn't want to be there. The food was okay, but that really isn't why you go there, it's more for the Fab Five. I don't think we will put it on our list for next time. After dinner it started to rain, but we headed back to MK anyway. The park was almost empty in places. I don't know if it was the weather or because it was a Sunday night. Either way I told my dh I could get use to this. We rode a few more rides then headed back to the resort for the looooonngg night.

Ok, I subbed last night but I just finished reading this morning. A few notes!

I felt the SAME way about POP!! And I have statyed in many of the resorts. POP is the only one that I got that, "This doesn't seem like DISNEY" feeling. So don't give up on all other resorts completely!! If you want to try something different, going from THE BEST resort, WL, to POP...you really are just setting yourself up for disappointment. If you ever have to do that again, try a moderate, like POR of CBR. I love both of those resorts.

Ok, your pictures of WL made me want to go there SOOO badly and just solidified for me that, althought I LOVED my stay at the Poly, the WL truly is my FAV!!

Your kids are so cute!

I am so nervous for your son! Your responses to him are hilarious!! But I know he, at least, made it to Monday when we ran into you at Epcot!

Sorry they couldn't find your pictures -- they couldn't find ours, either. :sad1:

I would be responding the same way to my kids if they said they were sick -- you can't be sick at Disney! LOL Just act like nothing is wrong and it will all go away ("fake it till you make it!"). I hope it all turned out ok...

We didn't get to use the bus transportation on this trip so I'd like to try that on our next trip. We'll see! Great TR so far!

Thanks for the info on the resorts Nikki. I knew going into it that the Pop would be quite a bit different from what we were use to but wow, never expected the transportation issues to be so extreme. :confused3
Yes the kid did make it till Monday, but little did you know how sick he was as you and I were talking. I don't think I realized it either.

Don't you just love mothers like us Stephanie?!? If we can't fix it we ignore it! :rotfl:

Jeana, I'm pretty sure we sat at the same exact spot at Chef Mickey's! Too funny!

You are kidding?!? That's just too weird!

What a beautiful view. - Do they have a slide at the pool at wilderness?

Hey Karen, yes they do have a slide and you will see pics of my dd on it later in my report. Now, it's no StormAlong Bay by any means, but it will deposit you into the pool which is the whole point, right. :goodvibes

Having hallways has been part of our reasoning for always staying at Moderates and not the Deluxes (Ok money has something to do with that also), but I love staying at POR and walking out my door to see all the pretty Magnolia tress and other greenery. That 4th floor view is great

Now, on to your TR. Too funny about the strep throat. I could see me acting like that also. Your daughter is too funny thinking that's it, we are leaving so lets get it all done.

And I have an obscession trying to take pics of balloons lately. I've seen all these fantastic pics, especially in front of the castle. One day I will get one. Your night time pic of the castle is great!
