What do you mean you don't want to go?? The End - 12/17

Hm, now I'm in suspense! Will your DH eat? Will he sleep? WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT??? :rotfl:

Glad you had such a quick and easy flight! I love it when that happens. Though I usually blow any "extra time" I get from landing early by standing in a too-long line at the MCO Starbucks and going to the wrong side for Magical Express.

Does that sign actually saw "Recombobulation Area"? I love it!

Hope you DH gets all the sleep he needs.

It does!

recombobulation.jpg

It is my favorite airport sign. Someone has a sense of humor - I can appreciate that

DH did sleep a lot. He was kind of mad that he slept so much, because he basically slept the trip away - but he needed it. Plus we go back in a month for 10 days, so he'll have plenty of time then!

:rotfl: My TRs are very thrilling aren't they...gotta keep you at the edge of your seat :rotfl:

We actually remembered to go to the correct side for the ME this time, but went down too early, so we still had to trek all over the place. Once we did it correctly. Once. In 6 trips. I shouldn't say that too loud, they might revoke my AP! :sad2:

Just read your last update... those head boats are really bizarre. It's so funny to see what people come up with!

I'm glad you made it to Disney. It is always such a good feeling when you land and you know what all is ahead of you!

Yeah, I'm not sure what those are all about. I would never think to make a face boat!

I agree, I love that feeling on the ME when everything else just melts away and you know you're on your way.

We got to the Boardwalk at about 1:30.

IMG_0582.jpg

There was no line and we went right there to check in. I had forgotten to check in online. Our room was ready (seriously - Twilight Zone!), and the girl wrote it down for us. We tried to get into the room - but our keys didn't work. Hmmm…. A friendly Mousekeeping CM tried to help us by letting us into the room, but there was other people's luggage in the room. So we went back down to the front desk to see what happened. Turns out they gave us the wrong room #. Oops. At least I knew it wasn’t my magnetic personality erasing the cards. Once we had the right room, and we made sure our keys worked, we took a picture of the room # to send to Panic and Greg so they would know where to go.

IMG_0554.jpg

Then we took a look around.

IMG_0549.jpg

IMG_0550.jpg

IMG_0547.jpg

IMG_0548.jpg

Manager, this room came with a sleepy husband…can I be assigned a new one?

IMG_0546.jpg

We had a nice pool view

IMG_0553.jpg

Except, the pool was closed while we were there. And no one told us that we could use the Beach Club pool until our last night. Not that we would have used it, but I thought the communication was lacking.

IMG_0552.jpg

Overall, a very nice view

IMG_0551.jpg

DH was fading fast, but said he was hungry, so we headed to the Boardwalk for lunch.

Neither of us were starving, so we decided to check out the Boardwalk Bakery. We split a Turkey Sandwich.

IMG_0559.jpg

DH approved!

IMG_0558.jpg

How cute are the Halloween cups?

IMG_0561.jpg

We also split the chocolate peanut butter cake.

IMG_0562.jpg

OMG. If you haven't had this you should. It was wonderful! So wonderful, you should see it again from a very slightly different angle.

IMG_0563.jpg

The view wasn't bad either

IMG_0560.jpg

Oh my gosh...that cake looks so good! The turkey does too...I must be hungry!

It is a little strange they didn't think to tell you that you could use the BC pool... I mean, wouldn't the main pool's closure be something important to tell guests?

Had you ever stayed at the Boardwalk before? (I can't remember from your past trips...ahhh!). It is on my must-do list!

I can't believe they didn't tell you about the pool! Though I suppose at least it meant your pool view room was more peaceful than it might have been otherwise?

Great update. I love that you have the picture of the recombobulation area! I fly out of Milwaukee all of the time, and I love that! Also, you are so right about the face sailboats. Every time I see them, I'm like, huh?

You totally had the best luck upon arrival. Everything seemed to go nice and smooth for you. Love the pixie dust! :wizard:

I love all things chocolate and peanut butter - but that cake was just to die for! Now I'm hungry too!

Yeah, bummer too, because we probally would have used it had we known. And I even checked on wdwinfo and they said it would be closed, but not that we could use stormalong bay. Bummer!

We stayed at the Boardwalk once before - in the late 90's. I do really like the Boardwalk, it's one of my favorite resorts. I hope you get to stay there soon!

I can't believe they didn't tell you about the pool! Though I suppose at least it meant your pool view room was more peaceful than it might have been otherwise?

:rotfl: That's exactly what I said... We're usually not huge pool people anyway, so the pool closure wasn't a huge letdown. So it was a lot of upside for us!

For the longest time, I thought every airport had that sign. Probally because I'm looking around in anticipation when I'm leaving for vacation, but can hardly keep my eyes open when I'm coming home.

The face-boats creep me out. They're beyond random, and in my opinion, very un-milwaukee.

I think it was the universe's (or maybe tinkerbell's) way of rewarding me for not throttling my DH when he said he didn't want to come :lmao:

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Next time we fly out of Milwaukee I'm going to have to look for this! To funny! :rotfl:

Definately do. I love that it's an official sign and everything, but it makes it easy to miss.

What a gorgeous view from your villa! I love the Boardwalk, so I really enjoyed seeing all your photos from this chapter.

After lunch, DH couldn't keep his eyes open any longer, so he headed back to the room.

I didn’t feel like napping, and it was about 2:30 at this point, so what to do?

The original plan called for a visit to the MK. However, the primary reason for this visit would have been to ride the train, which I personally don't have a overwhelming need to do (shhh…. don’t tell DH – he thinks it’s my favorite :laughing). Also, most of the rides at the MK are better with someone – like buzz lightyear for the competition or Peter Pan for the snuggle. So I wasn't sure if the trip to the MK was worth it. It was a MNSSHP night, so I knew it would be crowded. I thought about going to DHS, but we were supposed to go there the next morning, plus I'd never been to a park by myself before, and I wasn’t sure I’d be comfortable with it.

Greg was supposed to land around 3:45, so I decided to stay close, and do something that I knew I was comfortable doing by myself – SHOPPING!

So, headed into the boardwalk shops, and of course honed right in on the D&B bags. I mean DH sleeping means I get one right? :laughing

They had the new colored sketch bags

IMG_0568.jpg

And the plain sketch bags

IMG_0571.jpg

And the colored Mickey bags

IMG_0572.jpg

but no princess bags. Foiled again!

I looked around the store a little more, but really wasn’t in the mood to buy anything, so I decided to take a stroll around Crescent Lake.

Hey there Epcot, why must you tempt me with your proximity?

IMG_0577.jpg

I thought about it hard. I did. But I knew that Epcot was the one park that people would get made at me if I went without them.

So I just admired fro afar.

IMG_0581.jpg

I got up to the bridge that leads you to either the WS or the Beach Club, and I glanced at Epcot longingly.

IMG_0601.jpg

It was calling my name

IMG_0602.jpg

oh…wait… that wasn’t Epcot calling me, that was Matt who was calling me to tell me they were at Universal and ask if I wanted to join them. As tempting as that offer was – I decided to pass.

Then for reasons I can’t explain, I headed back towards the boardwalk.

IMG_0578.jpg

After making my way to the end of the store, I slowly headed towards the Swalphin (or the Swan and Ugly Fish as DH refers to it) It was a gorgeous day, and the view was quite nice.

IMG_0583.jpg

I decided not to go into the Swalphin, since I had pretty much explored every corner when Panic and I were trapped there in June. So I headed towards the Yacht club.

IMG_0584.jpg

IMG_0585.jpg

IMG_0586.jpg

When we were looking for ceremony locations, the Yacht Club Gazebo was on our short list. It is quite pretty.

IMG_0587.jpg

All the coke I drank with lunch started to catch up to me, so I ducked into the Yacht Club to use the "Ladies Lounge" as my friend calls it.

Since I was there, I checked out the store too.

IMG_0589.jpg

Um… hwere are Joanna and Panic on this villains game? Discrimination!

IMG_0590.jpg

I really liked this shirt, They have it on Disney Shopping… I think I might get it.

IMG_0596.jpg

I decided not to buy anything, I headed towards the Beach Club.

IMG_0591.jpg

IMG_0597.jpg

By this it was almost 3:30, so I decided to head back towards the boardwalk.

IMG_0598.jpg

IMG_0599.jpg

Wow… am I boring you with all my crescent lake pictures? I’m kind of boring myself.

IMG_0600.jpg

IMG_0605.jpg

Once I returned to the Boardwalk I kept walking around the Boardwalk grounds.

IMG_0608.jpg

I made my way to Community Hall but nothing was going on. I walked around some more, and finally I was so hot I decided to head back to the room.

Once back in the room, I checked on DH – and poked him with a stick to make sure he was still alive…

IMG_0610.jpg

DH was still sawing logs, so I decided to make use of our One Bedroom Villa and test out the tub.

After my bath, I realized that I must have sat in something because there was a spot on my pants, so I threw them in the wash, and flipped on the TV. Good show Boardwalk - your TV is from this decade!

I love this lamp – I want It for my house!

IMG_0611.jpg

I got a call from Greg that he had landed, and was heading to the ME. So I finished getting ready and headed back down to the boardwalk.

IMG_0616.jpg

Panic called to say she was in ATL and her plane was on time, so we chatted for a while, then work called and I talked to them for a bit.

I realized it had been about an hour since Greg had called and figured he'd be arriving any minute, so I headed back to the lobby. They had a staff Pumpkin carving contest. It was so cute.

My favorites were the Main Street Electrical Pumpkin

GetInline-23.jpg

And this Candy Corn Concoction from Flying Fish.

GetInline-24.jpg

I was impressed with the details on some of them.

GetInline-19.jpg

GetInline-16.jpg

GetInline-21.jpg

I thought these were so cute – there was a contest where people could vote for their favorite. I don’t know what the prize was, but it was a great idea.

I took a seat and chatted with the DVC CM for a while. I realized that it had been almost 2 hrs since Greg had called. I called Panic to see if she had heard from him, but as the phone was ringing, a ME pulled up and Greg walked out.

IMG_0617.jpg

Apparently he'd gotten lost looking for the ME.

I enjoyed all the Crescent Lake pics, so you didn't bore me. :) It's such a beautiful area. Loved all the deocrated pumpkins too- how fun!

You definitely exercised a lot of self control being so close to Epcot but not going. I don't know if I would have been able to do that. Your picture of the France pavilion just made me keep think about pastries. :rotfl:

I definitely wasn't bored with all of the pics. It just made me want to stay at the Boardwalk even more next time!

I hope you can find your D&B princess bag at some point on this trip. I've got a good feeling though!

So we watched the Vikings/Packers game today. I know you are excited with the outcome :thumbsup2

Glad you weren't bored. I didn't realize how many pictures I took! I agree - that area is gorgous!

The pumpkins were really fun. I thought it was a cool touch.

Yeah, actually as I think about it now - what was I thinking??? Why didn't I go to Epcot?? ;)

My walk was quite lovely though.

The Boardwalk is really pretty. I hope you get to stay there.

Still no luck on the D&B bag. Hopefully I can find it at Christmas!

Yes, I was quite happy. We love seeing #4 screw another team instead of us!

So, we went up to the room and decided to head to the AK. I poked at DH and asked if he wanted to come with us. To my surprise, he said yes!

So the 3 of us headed to the AK.

There's something you need to know about both Greg and I… we both have trouble hearing. We can hear that people are saying things, but we can't always understand them, so we make things up with about 60% accuracy. This made for some interesting conversations.

On the bus ride to AK, I mentioned how I wanted to ride Everest in the dark, so we should head to Dinosaur. He looked at me really weird and said "You want to ride Dinosaur in the dark?" I didn't quite hear him, so I said, "Yes, I think it would be way cooler in the dark" he looked at me really weird and said "isn't it already in the dark?" I looked back at him like he was an alien. He then repeated "You want to ride Dinosaur in the dark?" to which I replied "yeah, that would be cool" So DH chimed in, "Dinosaur? Is that in the dark already" I blinked at him like he was crazy and they looked at me like I was nuts. Eventually we figured it out, and it threw us into hysterics so all night, we were talking about riding Dinosaur in the dark.

We had to go to Guest Relations for Greg to pick up his tickets, but soon we were headed through the gates.

IMG_0621.jpg

It was here that my camera started flashing that the battery was dying. So the pictures from here on in are a bit sparse.

Our first mission - a Jalapeño cheese pretzel! But the stand was closed, so we settled on fries and onion rings from Flame Tree.

IMG_0626.jpg

Num Num.

IMG_0627.jpg

Greg declared his onion rings to be superawesomefantastic.

Okay, so he didn't say that, but it's what he meant! He talked about how good they were for the rest of the trip.

I just love the seating areas at Flame Tree. They’re so gorgous.

IMG_0623.jpg

IMG_0622.jpg

IMG_0625.jpg

So we headed to Dinosaur.

IMG_0628.jpg

This is where my camera died, and I had to resort to my phone, so I apologize for the lack of and poor quality of pictures in this section.

We can't ride Dinosaur, It's not dark yet!

IMG_0632.jpg

Wait… This ride is inside – why do you need it to be dark?

IMG_0631.jpg

My lame attempt at taking a picture of the pipes in dinosaur

GetInline-13.jpg

After narrowly escaping the asteroid that destroyed all life… I mean from our lovely journey to the early Cretaceous Period… we headed to Everest.

Greg… what does a yeti look like?

GetInline-15.jpg

It was dusk at this point…It’s not dark yet!

GetInline-14.jpg

We calmed DH down and rode the ride at dusk. It was quite cool in the lower light, so when we left the ride, it was dark, and we rode it again. If you ever get the chance to ride Everest in the dark, do it. It really adds to the already awesome ride.

About this time, Panic called to say she'd landed, but was still on the plane.

GetInline-12.jpg

It was dark at this point so we rode Everest again – in the dark! If you haven’t done it, I highly recommend it.

There were about 45 minutes of EMH left, so we decided we had time to ride Dinosaur in the dark!

Then we headed to the bus to meet Panic.

When you leave 2 boys in line for more than 5 minutes, this is what happens

GetInline-1-1.jpg

We hopped on the bus back to the Boardwalk, but got off at the Swan because the bus was more like a human sardine can with wheels.

We then decided to head to the Bellvue lounge for a drink while we waited for Panic.

Everest in the dark sounds like fun. Someday I'll have to go on a day when AK is open past dusk to try it.
