The thread about what can you do now that you've lost weight that you couldn't do before was so inspiring... I thought it might be fun to share what we are looking forward to doing as we progress a little more.

Just visualize being able to do it is motivating!

I look forward to being able to ride Rock N Roll Coaster, without being nervous about whether I will fit in the seat!

I want to look in the mirror and actually like what I see!! LOL

I want to be able to wear clothes that have shape instead of wearing baggy clothes to cover unsightly rolls! I'm just now starting to be able to do this and I'm loving every minute of it!! I find myself buying clothes that are pretty and that draw attention to me instead of making me fade into the background like my old clothes did.

I want to go parasailing, and not be over the weight limit!!

I want to wear jeans...I have not worn a pair of jeans in 10 years.

I thought of another one as soon as I hit "enter." I want to sit in a booth in a restaurant without having to eyeball it first to see if I'll fit. :)

Me too, Jen!! I'm tired of having to sqeeeeeeeze into those too tight booths! And I also want to fit into seats in the movie theatre without feeling like I am stuffed in! AND I want to buy really cute clothes that make me feel like I look great, not just something that hides the fat rolls!

I want to wear my jeans with my top tucked in instead of over the top. I also want to feel confortable in a swimsuit.

Kestral,
I wouldn't worry about that! DH tips the scales at well over 300, and he has enjoyed that ride several times. (once, during a business trip to KSC, he spent an extra day just to ride RRC and he rode it 32 times!)

I look forward to fitting back into all my cool skinny (skimpy) clothes.

I look forward to being able to keep up with my kids, play football with DS and really Play Hard.

I look forward to enjoying shopping for clothes again. Right now, it's pretty much a slow painful torture.:crazy2:

I look forward to water skiing and teaching my kids how to, and snow skiing, too.

I look forward to a longer, healthier, happier, more fulfilling life.

I look forward to yummy comments from DH about certain areas that have been going unnoticed lately.:(

I look forward to just feeling more comfortable in mind and body.
Thanks for starting this thread. Having things to look forward to is what makes me tick. I am a person with a vision. I can get through anything as long as I have a clear vision of what I want my future to be!

Keep the faith!

Catherine, I'm not sure I could lose enough weight to ever feel comfortable in a swim suit!! LOL

No matter how slim I am I still feel like a swim suit is nothing more than "fancy underwear" and I hate being seem in public in them! When I got married 17 years ago I wore a size 8 or 9 and I still didn't like to be seen in a swim suit and now since "things" have moved south I'm sure nothing short of plastic surgery will ever make me look good in one again. Oh well, maybe I'll hit the lottery and buy myself a new shape!! LOL!!

sit in my own airplane seat without lifting the arm and "borrowing" some of my skinny husband's space

cross my legs in a ladylike (but sexy!) manner :)

buy more new clothes that show off my body instead of hide it

I want to be excited about going clothes shopping and buy clothes that have some shape to them rather than always wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants. :D

Oh to dare to dream to tuck my shirt in, now thats a vision.

To not have this big juicy roll that folds over.

To have that feeling again of looking in my closet and knowing that all the clothes fit and it dosen't matter what I put on, it will look good.

To exercise, to exercise , to exercise. I just can't believe I'm doing it!!!!!

To horseback ride again (don't have to wait till I'm all the way to goal for this one, thankfully).

To dance ALL NIGHT.

To tuck in my shirt....I have this 'dream' outfit.....a drindle skirt, full sleved silk blouse, tucked in and a bolero jacket.....this outfit requires a waist!!!

I want to wear a WHITE bathing suit.

To NOT be the person on the airplane you don't want to sit next to:eek:

I want to not be the fat sister (I have 5).

I want to wear fashionable clothes.

I want to wear my levis with a fitted shirt tucked in.

I want to like what I see in the mirror.

I want to be a happier person.

I want my darling husband to say "I like you how you are" and agree with him. :p

I still have a good way to go, but parasailing -- unexpectedly -- became one of my dreams. Now, my 10-year-old granddaughter and I are doing it, tandem, in December. I had to laugh at her last weekend. She said, "Boy, Nana. You go your whole life, and all of a sudden you're a daredevil!!"

She's right! What in the heck am I doing?? Losing the weight that I've lost has really given me a new zest for life. Now, if I could just get to where I can comfortably tuck in a shirt without wearing a jacket over it, life would be grand.

I think we're all doing a marvelous job! :smooth:

Pat

48 days and counting . . . again!

Wow - these replies on the thread have been great ! They have helped me through a tough to keep motivated weekend.

I never thought about the restaurant booth thing, but its so true. Someone should ask the restaurant business why the booths have gotten smaller but the portions larger - does not seem like a good match!

I guess I'll add another one - I look forward to meeting new people without thinking they are noticing my weight first, and me second.

AND... being a better reflection of my screen name "kestral" (its really spelled kestrel but that was already taken.) That's a small colorful hawk, little but loud and feisty. I got the loud and feisty part covered - hope to get smaller with the support of the WISHers!

I agree about the airline seats. It always makes me cringe when I had to ask for a seat belt extender. Hopefully those days are gone forever.

Also I would like to be able to go on any ride anywhere and not worry about being told I am too heavy.

Those booths in restaurants are killers. I have always tried to avoid them but again hopefully no more.

And looking good in clothes for my parent's 50th anniversary family cruise in August 2004 and my nephew's wedding in June 2005.

And last but not least and maybe the biggest motivator of all, walking the 1/2 marathon at WDW in January 2005.

tying my tennis shoes in the middle without it being a struggle. What I mean is the heavier i got the more my ties on my laces kept moving more to the inside of the shoes..my dad pointed out to me also it happens the older you get..
