What do you like to do?

We are sailing on an EC 12/15/18. What are your favorite non-pool or non-beach things to do on board or on shore? We live in Florida about 2 miles from the beach and have a large pool, so that's not what we are into for vacation. Not really spa people either. This will be our 5th DCL cruise, so I know some things we've done in the past but I'm looking for new ideas.

We also have a pool and live at the beach, so I totally "get" you! We have not done the EC, but we did get off the ship in each port and do local tours, mostly checking out the history and trying the local cuisine.

On board, we went to many of the on board activities...we watched movies, we sat on the deck and relaxed, we went to cooking classes and wine tastings. We went on a kitchen tour, a behind the scenes tour, an art of the theme tour...spent a lot of time in lines for character meets and photo ops. We dressed for dinner and the show each night. We had leisurely breakfasts...I did laundry before we got off the ship, so I could unpack right in to our drawers at home. Seriously, using the laundramat style washers means 2 hours of laundry and maybe an hour folding...vs 2 whole days of laundry and folding at home. I always do laundry the last day of our vacation now.

I'd forgotten about tours. We used to skip them because my daughter was young (she was able to go on the kitchen one though), but she will be 18 this time. Great idea!

I like the trivia games. Mixology is fun, too. Also like sitting on deck 4 reading a book. The big shows at night, also.

On shore, we like taking (our first time in any given port) a general tour around the island/town. Subsequent visits, we either just get off and walk around or, pick a more specific excursion.

I've never seen the Art of the Theme Show tour to be ticketed. It is 18+ though and I've seen a small child turned away.

The Day One "tour" is open to anyone and just a show up thing.

Midship Detective Agency, bingo, game shows, Aqua Duck, meeting characters, movies on deck, lounging on a deck chair, looking at the ocean, walking the promonade, shuffleboard, mini-golf, etc.

While I am a big fan of sitting on deck by the pool I also enjoy trivia games, alcohol tastings, and my favorite on board activity is Palo Brunch. We aren't usually spa people either however, we have enjoyed a couples massage from time to time. At night we enjoy the adult entertainment, with a few exceptions, and during those events we make a visit to the Meridian Lounge for a cocktail. It's so nice on the outside deck and it is usually deserted.

On board we do various different activities depending on whats in the navigator, drink tastings, bingo, towel folding classes, gingerbread houses, etc.

In port we usually check out historical areas and/or do one of the city tours, or culinary experiences. In St Maarten I went off by myself to see the "Yoda guy" display, really cool. In St Thomas we took the sky tram up to that restaurant overlooking the island, great view to just chill and have a drink.

We get a veranda room and one my favorite things to do is drink my coffee in my PJ's in the AM and a glass of wine before bed. We will get up early to watch the ship pull into dock which you can do from any deck if you don't have a veranda.

Are you taking her to Palo?
My kids were so excited the first time we took them to Palo as adults, they quickly became addicted too!!!
Especially the brunch menu.

Good idea! This upcoming trip four of us are now over 18 so I have us booked at Remy for 2 nights and Palo for 1 with a Palo brunch thrown in for good measure. I just realized this AM how much extra that is going to cost.
