Yep - you are absolutely right - that is the right way to eat a hot dog!
A Chicago dog has:
- Vienna beef hotdog (there really is a difference, they're the best in the world...but any all-beef dog will do in a pinch)
- onions
- sport/banana peppers (although I usually leave those off)
- tomatoes
- dill pickle spears
- basic yellow mustard (none of that fancy stuff!)
- relish (the kind that is an eerie shade of green)
- celery salt
- NO KETCHUP!
If I can't have a real Chicago dog, I usually will do the standard ketchup, mustard and relish.
