We are going for dinner in November at Sci FI. It will be me, DH, DD4 & DD6. I know it's not going to be the best food but my kids think it's going to be fun. Yes, even after I've read lunch is better we want to go for dinner. So for those of you who have gone is there anything you like for dinner? We will be on the DP.
Thank you all for your help! :cheer2:

I usually stick with the onion rings as an app and either a classic burger or the chicken sandwich. I feel anything else leads to disappointment. :guilty:

I love it for the atmosphere though!!

Enjoy your trip :thumbsup2

NOT The chicken sandwich! :lmao: You'll beee sorrry..... :rotfl2:
Sadly, we have eaten dinner there twice and nothing has been stellar.
Order burgers like others do. Or just take a stab and remember it is all about atmosphere and location. :rotfl2:
A guest seated in a car next to me had the pasta dinner. I think it had shrimp in it. It smelled good.

Go there for the atmosphere and not the food, which we thought was awful. Also bring a sweater because it was like zero degrees in there. Even DH who is always hot was freezing.

Not sure if you could get a burger, but here is the dinner menu in case you haven't seen it...

We really like the ribs. Very well done, spicy but not overly so. Big portions too.

Last November I had the Pan Seared Salmon which I liked. DW had the Butcher Tendered Steak which she liked. I would order either one again.

The Happiest Celebration on Earth Cheesecake was really good :thumbsup2

The good: my husband liked his ribs and his shake (oreo)
The bad: I HATED my shrimp penne (or whatever pasta it was)
I love shrimp, and I love pasta, but it was kind of dry, had too many capers, and a bit on the bland side (other than the capers, ack), I ended up helping my son finish his macaroni, which was admittedly tasty (for macaroni that is, lol).

ofcourse, everyone's taste buds are different.

the shrimp and pasta dish was GREAT I thought LOL above poster: I LOVE CAPERS!!! probably why we have such different reviews!! LOL

mine was not dry either...and I am picky with my pasta too

the shrimp were big and juicy....not small and tough like shrimp you find here in Iowa!! ;)

the moon pie was dry

the shakes were good

kids meals were good

spinach/cheese artichoke dip was icky...IMO

dh liked the ribs and BLT soup...

Apple crisp dessert had too much clove taste to it

imo

HTH!!

DON'T ... I repeat DON'T get the steak dinner! I am a steak lover, but that tough piece of meat in no way resembled a steak ... buffalo steak maybe. It tasted disgusting. The potatoes which came with the meal were undercooked, and the salad had a bleu cheese vinagrette dressing (no other choices) which was nasty. We had eaten lunch there previously (burgers, etc.) which was fine, but none of us enjoyed the dinner. Yuck!!

Even though it isnt on the dinner menu, they will prolly give you the burgers/ shakes/ rings if you ask. Its the only safe bet IMO

Better ask for extra water with that chicken sandwich...IT IS BONE DRY!! On the other hand, the BLT soup that I had read about on these boards was YUMMY! Stick with the burgers and onion rings and you won't be disappointed. DH likes the reuben very much. He said the chili was "pretty good".

We actually thought the spinach/artichoke dip was very good. You can get a burger if you ask even though it's not on the dinner minner. I thought the steak had a decent flavor, but the way they cook it, in some sort of a glaze, causes it to get very tough on the outside. You need a pretty sharp knife to get through it - I wouldn't order it again. My wife said her salmon was pretty good. My mom had the rueben and said it was good.

Even though it sounds like a negative review, it's one of the places on our short list of places I want to return to. Loved the atmosphere which more than made up for a slightly less quality of the food as compared to some of the other restaurants on property.

Thanks Spartan! The atmosphere is our draw for going.

This is one of our "every Trip" restaurants. (So Far only 2 make the cut each trip) At dinner I love the salmon, and the Shrimp pasta is my fav. DH gets the ribs every trip, love the shakes, and at christmas the BLT soup and the Happiest Cheesecake on Earth were new favs! We love, love love the cool dark interior of this restaurant, and have nearly always had more than attentive CM's
TTFN-
k.

I had the chicken ceasar salad which was pretty good. Kind of hard to screw that up.

We stick to basic stuff like burgers and fries and shakes. I think they make one of the better burgers on property. Keep in mind, you can order this stuff for dinner even though it may not be on the menu.

I heard someone say once that if you'll treat this as an attraction rather than a restaurant, you're not as likely to be disappointed.

Having said that - I've had an OK burger there a couple of times. Nothing stellar. Oddly enough, DD has had the shrimp with penne pasta, and I sampled it, and found it to be quite good. Go figure ... but if the kitchen is off that night, it's an expensive mistake.

We've gotten to where we have a meal somewhere else, and just drop in for a shake. We get the atmosphere, a chance to cool down, and have no guilt 'cause we haven't broken the bank.
