What do you like at Aldi?

I like the Belmont ice cream too..... I seriously see no difference between Aldi and the products at the grocery store,in a 'blind' taste test, no one in the house could either!:cool1:

Oh! I forgot about that...LOVE the Moose Tracks!

Also..Aldi and Trader Joes are the same german company...so a lot of the products are the same. maybe 50%? especially the 'special' deli case stuff....
oh,the one thing I don't like from Aldi is the Mama Cozzi pizzas in the deli case...we ate too many of these while renovating our kitchen, and now just looking at them makes me queasy.......

That's why I HATE those lean pocket things now! SO funny!

just got back.... I do buy pasta sauce here, and pasta! they now have pineapple greek yogurt and i am in heaven.......

My daughter loves the cheese rice cakes. And she is the pickies eater ever!
Don't buy the frozen breaded chicken cutlets. OMG- they tasted like dirty gym socks. Even the dog wouldn't eat them, and the dog ISN'T the pickiest eater ever.

I like everything we've tried so far except the peanut butter...but I'm partial to Jif & generics that taste like Jif & Aldis does not! I also haven't bought meats & produce there as I've got a great low cost store for that with much better selection.

Thanks again for the replies. I went for my weekly shop and picked up some new stuff thanks to your recommendations! :thumbsup2

I have just done some math between the prices at Sam's and Aldi. I only found three things that were cheaper at Sam's (that we buy all the time): crunchy granola bars, whole bean coffee (can't stand Aldi's whole bean anyway), and laundry detergent. Frankly, I don't know if that's worth my Sam's membership, I might just get the coffee at Trader Joe's. ;)

By the way, they got rid of the old lean pockets and have new, less bready ones, which I'm thrilled to see are permanent.

has anyone tried the tindel laundry soap if so what did you think

We are currently using it. It seems to work just fine! I have an HE machine so I use the HE one. Nice scent, seems to get everything just as clean as the expensive stuff.

So far I like most of what I have purchased at Aldi so I begin there. I like the special items that I have gotten around Holiday time. Their baking products are wonderful as are their canned pie fillings. I am not a brand snob so pantry basics are fine. I have been advised to skip the salsa and their pickles. My cats refuse to eat the canned food.

The laundry soup works well.

I am almost embarrassed to admit that I love their hotdogs. They taste like the dogs my Mom bought when I was a kid so I buy them when I an craving some nostalgia

Our cats seem to like the dry food. We also buy our litter there, I don't know if it's actually cheaper or just more convenient since we're already there, but it works fine.

I mostly buy their produce, and bird food (when they have it). Most of the other stuff I can get far cheaper with coupons and sales at our grocery stores - which double Q's up to .99 every day, and very often have triple Q,s weeks. I did buy some milk on sale once and found a blue blob of something in it - took it back and will buy no more there. I realize it was a freak thing, but once it happens, it sort of turns you off, and I would always be looking for something, and it's not worth it to me. Our other groceries ( Harris Teeter, Lowes, Krogers) often have good sales on milk, so it's no biggie for me.

They have a fresh salsa that is Artichoke and Garlic and it is really good.
It is less than half the price of the comparable stuff at Kroger.

I have also been getting a pack of the smoked pork chops each week.
They are good and quick.

Also the frozen super sweet corn is really good too.

I don't usually shop there, but there is one about 10 minutes from me and my dad has me stop by there whenever I'm going to visit to get him cans of Corned Beef Hash :scared1: Not even something I would think about eating but he and my step mom LOVE this stuff. He says it's really good.

I love Aldi and do a lot of our grocery shopping there. The Aldi stores out my way are always clean, bright, well stocked, and the employees are always friendly. It is easier to list the items that I don't buy there than what I do buy there. The only items I don't buy there are our meats (fresh and frozen), ground coffee, coffee creamer, and cleaning/laundry products.

Love their mayonaise. Burman's I think is the name & also the KC bbq sauce is very good. We shop Aldi's quite a lot.

We tried the tilapia this weekend (sold in a bag of 10 filets, all individually wrapped). Anyway, we used it for fish tacos and it was REALLY good!

My mom loves the tilpia filets from Aldi. They are so easy for her to just get one out and quickly cook it up for lunch or dinner.
