What do you know about WDW that others may not?

Which ever side you go in past the fireplace changing picture before the stretch room you want to line up on the same side as the fireplace. The hallway runs between the two stretching rooms to the Doom Buggies. Hope that makes sense.

The exit is always under the picture of the woman with the parasol.

EDIT: Nevermind - someone beat me to it.

Another little secret although I'm a little reluctant to tell it is during the preshow at Rockin Rollercoaster. I know this is a family forum and gets a little PG at the worst but Mr. Steven Tyler makes a rather inappropriate hand gesture while he's talking in the sound booth. I won't describe it or explain it but those that know what I'm talking about will agree, Disney should have been a little smarter with their editing:)

I will admit, I do get a little chuckle everytime I see it:) It's shocking!

There is also a few lights on the wall in the stretching room that indicator the automatic sliding door

Not a secret to Disers, but would be to others:

In the morning, the jam of guests going from the TTC to the MK almost always get in line for either the ferry boat or the express monorail. The resort loop monorail usually has no line. It is a third option, and there is no reason not to take it. It can save a lot of time.

Maybe not a secret to some, but something I discovered on my own... in queue to meet Ariel there are several hidden Mickeys, about the size of a nickel and two dimes (head and ears), formed into the "cavern" walls. The walls are kid of bumpy /bubbly and they are scattered among these bumps, about eye level.

Lol! I know exactly what your talking about. It's absolutely horrible and I can't believe it hasn't been changed!! But most people have ni clue what they're seeing when they look at it so, I guess it's not a huge deal.

I'm not convinced that's the signal he's giving. I think the picture is too grainy to confirm.

I do think it's THAT symbol and it looks very deliberate to me. I was chuckling to myself last time I rode it.

I love that the only place in the world that the shocker is still discussed is a Disney message board.

Don't wait for the first elevator on the left hand side at the Yacht Club. It's fake. That door will never open. If you go around behind it you will see several pay phones. It's just a facade to balance out the look with the other three elevators.

One finger or two?
The first two fingers and the pinky. ;) And he does it kind of slowly, like he wants to make sure he's making the gesture correctly. I'd post a link to the Youtube video that shows it well, but I might get in trouble for that.

Well, yes and no. It appears that was his intent, but since his first two fingers are apart (not together), he's not really making the inappropriate gesture. But it's rather close.

More here in a Wikipedia section. (nothing graphic in the discussion, BTW)

Are the gargoyle sconces in the stretching room? I should know this, but I am having a hard time picturing it. I just want to make sure I experience this next time I do Haunted Mansion! Sounds so cool!

Yes. Find a spot near one of them, away from the exit as noted above. As the room empties they start talking. We got "GET OUT! GET OUT!", but I understand there are several possibilities. A slower time is probably better for this. They had just started talking when a CM came in to get us moving along.

When you ride Tomorrowland Speedway with 2 children (so 1 adult and 2 children in one car), you can ask to do a "rider swap". The CM will put a kind of leathery strap on your car and you'll be able to ride twice in order to give each child a chance to "drive". Saved us a lot of arguments... :)

Oh, fun! Thank you for the details. I'll definitely remember this for the next trip to WDW.

One tidbit I have that is not really a secret is that there is an interesting bit of Epcot history in Innoventions West; I can't recall exactly where, but in one of those buildings that's empty with no attractions, there is a timeline of Epcot's various phases and events throughout multiple decades...I think it was up for Epcot's 25th anniversary back in 2007 along with other displays, but the timeline was still up last year.

Also, there is a hidden mickey in Animal Kingdom at the Affection Section in Rafiki's Planet Watch. It may not be there all the time, but look for a mickey shape shaved into a sheep's wool!

This is from my magical Tower of Terror tour that my mom and I won win I was 14 by being just plain awesome (and spending too much of our trip time riding Tower of Terror).

-One of the couches in Tower of Terror is an antique couch valued at about $20,000. The other is a replica. The employees have no idea which one is which.
-Everything in the lobby was specifically designed to make it look like people left in a hurry. One main clue to give this away is that there are ladies gloves on a table and around this time wealthy women hardly went anywhere without their gloves.
BEST ONE!: I've never heard anybody else know this story, maybe the CM just made it up for my Mom and I because it sounded cool, I guess we'll never know, but:

-In the lobby of Tower of Terror there's the bell desk with the guest mail. One of the envelopes is sticking out farther and a bit brighter than the others (this much is true or at least was when she pointed it out 7 years ago-) According to the CM, there was a man who absolutely loved the Tower of Terror. He and his family would go to WDW once a year around the same time of year and he would ride it as much as he possibly could. One year, he was too sick to make the trip, so he wrote a letter for his daughter to give to the ToT employees. He passed away shortly before they left for the trip, but the family still went and the daughter was very emotional when she gave it to the Manager. The CMs put the letter in the mail desk in the lobby so part of him could be with the ride forever. It's one of my favorite Disney stories I've ever heard and I love that not too many people have heard about it. :)

There are many many secrets about the Haunted Mansion, including the fact that the door out of the stretching room is under the tightrope girl. Also, the attic bride marries "up" - check her pearls out. For every person she marries, she acquires another strand of pearls. Also, Master Gracey is named after Yale Gracey, who was one of the imagineers for the ride. He was killed in a home invasion in California. Many of the CMs will leave roses on his grave.

Also, check out the Cinderella fountain. If you kneel down and look at the correct angle, the crown that is painted on the background appears to fit over her statue's head. It's a nice little illusion.

The Morocco pavilion was built perfectly. All the tiles were set, everything was immaculate. But, since only Allah can build perfectly, the workers basically wrecked and cracked up all the tiles and structures in the pavilion. (A guest relations CM told me this).

AK had trouble keeping the hippo enclosure clean, until they contacted a zoo (forgot which one), and were told they had to put cilcids in the pond. Problem solved! Also, AK created the zoo standard holder/transporter komodo dragon carrier.

The highest and most prominent peak on Expedition Everest is NOT Mt Everest. Mt Everest is the shorter looking peak behind it a little to the side it is meant to be further in the distance.

I've not heard that before, but now that I have... if it ISN'T true, I don't want to know! :goodvibes
