What do you know about Kiku Tempura

This resturant doesn't seem to get much press, and quite frankly other than knowing it is in Japan I have no idea where it is. The menu sounds good and I think we might like to try it. Also is it counter service since they don't seem to be listed on the planning report? I would love to here some reviews. TIA

Tempura Kiku is table service but last I knew they did not take reservations. As you enter the main building in Japan, Teppanyaki is to the left and Tempura Kiku is to the right. I've only eaten there once, several years ago, and everything was pretty bland (I had chicken). I liked the fried veggies but hated the soup and the two dipping sauces they offered (they were not the same delicious ones offered at Teppanyaki, but again, things may have changed since then). I have never tried anything other than the soup and tempura there, so I can't comment on the sushi items.

We actually ate there for the first time last summer and really liked it!
As the name states it is tempura and we thought it was very tasty! We had chicken and shrimp and veggies if I remember correctly. All was delicious. We actually had some sushi for an appetizer and it was also very very delicious! We were trying to find a way to squeeze it in for a second meal on our last trip. It is also my understanding that they do not take reservations. We had a bit of a wait around noon, but I think it was about 10 minutes, so not bad. We were going to go again this year but that whole restaurant including the Teppanyaki grill is closed while we're there.

Thanks guys, WE were thinking of going on our Dec. trip. But, without an ADR I'm not sure if I will do it for dinner.
