What do you have for breakfast?

I don't always have time for a regular breakfast. After I get up at 4:30am, I feed the cats (in different rooms so they don't fight over food), walk the first dog & feed her, check my e-mail, take my shower, do my hair & make-up, wake everyone up, help the kids fix their breakfast, fix DD,Ds & DH's lunch, & walk & feed the second dog. Bythat time, it's usually time to take the kids to school before going to work. I like the portable type of breakfast food. I love the NutraGrain bars with the fruit filling!

3/4 cup ff cottage cheese and seasonal fresh fruit, maybe a slice of whole grain toast

6oz ff plain greek yougurt with 2TBSs granola or a drizzle of local honey

hard boiled eggs

whole grain toast with reduced fat peanut butter or weight watchers cream cheese.

Sliced cheddar or Havarti cheese with seasonal fresh fruit

Lately it's been granola, greek yogurt and fresh berries. mmmm It's not something I thought I would like but I can't stop eating it. I use low fat granola- measure it out and low fat greek yogurt. It's yummy thick and fruity.

A bowl of oatmeal or a banana with PB.

I could do 2 cinnamon roll pop tarts every day, but I buy a box once in a great while for a treat.

Breakfast is 2 hardboiled eggs, bowl of oatmeal, and a protein shake (1 cup milk, 1 banana, 1 scoop of protein powder and ice)

I'm going to try this! It sounds so healthy. I'm reading "Megametabolism" and he stresses this kind of breakfast.

I have a fruit smoothie for breakfast everday- 1 package of vanilla carnation instant breakfast, 1 cup of fat free milk, and whatever frozen fruit you are in the mood for! It comes out wicked thick and keeps me full until lunch. I make it in this blender, just pop a straw in the top and its ready to go!

I usually have:

Oatmeal w/ chopped walnuts, brown sugar and a dash of real maple syrup
Fresh fruit
Tea with skim milk

or

Granola and yogurt parfait- I like Kashi granola the best
Hard boiled egg
Juice

Lately it has been Dannon yogurt (the 60 calorie one), with 1/2 cup of raspberry granola. And my normal 2 cups of coffee.

I have been on a "trying to eat healthier" kick after reading the "Eat This, Not That" grocery store book. I have 2 others ordered that I can't wait to read.

My son eats whatever for breakfast : bagel with cream cheese, smoothie, steak taquitos, cereal.

With school starting though, he is going to need to go grocery shopping with me to choose items for his breakfast.

I exercise before breakfast, so my breakfasts usually have a good amount of protein. My go to tends to be an eggbeater omelette (love the southwestern style ones) with fat free shredded cheddar and a half serving of reduced sodium baked ham with either a whole grain english muffin or ezekial & brummel and brown, then whatever fresh fruit I'm in the mood for. Lately my kick has been fresh pineapple and white peaches. When I want to toss things up I may put the omelette ON the muffin/toast..LOL! We also like the low-fat nutrigrain waffles with fat free yogurt(and sometimes fruit) on top. Real maple syrup is an occasional treat..200 cals/50 carbs per serving!

I eat Cheerios or Special K cereal and I always put Blueberries (fresh or frozen) in it to get a serving of fruit.
I always keep a box of protein bars to grab one if I'm running late & need to eat in car.
Here lately I've made fruit smoothies, with yogurt, milk, bananas & strawberries. You can drink that on the go & it's healthier than junk food.
