What Do You Hate About Autumn?

I hate fall so very much. I hate HW, which returns in the fall. I hate the naked trees at the end of the fall. I hate Halloween. I hate the cool weather. I hate winter and fall means winter is next. I am surely a summer girl.

I hate the autumn allergies...which in TN usually means ragweed. I love most everything about autumn...cooler temps, less humidity, football season...you name it!

I had those at my old house and they were enough to make me want to tear my hair out.. They were all over the outside of the house - and if you stepped outside, they were all over you.. Finally figured out how to kill them - since traditional pesticides and such don't work.. Spray the outside of your house with a mixture of Palmolive dish liquid and water (there's a thingee you can buy that attaches to your garden hose to put this mixture into).. Do it faithfully for a few days and they'll be gone - as in "dead" - not just washed away to return the next day.. Also, if you have boxelder trees in your yard, make sure you cut them all down and spray the nests (a clump of tiny red dots).. Boy - I sure don't miss them!!

And worst of all, it means that my time is running real short here at the lake and I'll have to head back to my DD's for the winter..:sad1::sad1:

Thanks for the tip on getting rid of the box elder bugs!

And I know what you mean about your time at the lake running short, that's the way we feel about our place up north. DH actually winterized our camper, and the guest camper, Sunday before we came home and we have no real plans to go back up unless the weather stops the guys from farming then we might go up for a night or two but basically our season up there is over. And it seems like such a l-o-n-g time for April to get here so we can start going back up again. :(

I hate the fact that winter comes next and last for about 6 months here in Maine.
This.........I'm in Buffalo. I don't care that the calendar says winter is 3 months long. It's more like 6-8 in our neck of the woods!

Turning the clocks back and winter is right around the corner. I HATE winter!

Autumn is beautiful here in New England with all the leaves turning colors, but all I can think about is the leaves falling and those darn bare trees mean winter to me which I HATE HATE HATE. I am a summer girl living in the wrong climate!!

I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't get all gushy talking about "Oh, I just lo-o-o-ove fall! It's my FAVORITE season! blahblahblah." Give me a good ole' 82 degree day in the middle of June any time!

I don't like mums.

I don't like to see the leaves turning brown and falling off the trees.

I don't like back to school sales.

Although, pumpkin pie helps ease the pain.

I love autumn and winter.

The one thing I hate about autumn is when one of those hot summer days sneaks its way into autumn. Everything is going fine with the cool, crisp days and wham, you get hit with a scorcher.

I love those "sneak in" days! :lovestruc

I actually love autumn but I hate that winter is just lurking around the corner. If it could be autumn until oh...March and then have spring, I'd be great with that. :lmao:
I think that is what we have in New Orleans with a few winter days sneaking in on occasion.

I love autumn and winter.

I will have my a/c on until at least Dec. Jan/Feb it can be cold or hot. Then summer starts again in March. I can go all winter without turning on my heat.

Worst part in never knowing from day to day if it is going to be hot or cold in the winter. But way better than just knowing that it is going to be freezing for months.

Down here, too. Summer really hits here with hot weather in July and goes until August. After that, temps start going down and it feels like we get 7 months of cold before it warms up again to the 60's.

I like the leaves changing color (to a degree, hate the allergies that come with it for me) and I like the "feel" in the air in October. We also like going out to Eastern Long Island to hit the pumpkin farms and such.

On the other side of the "coin", I don't like that it gets darker out earlier :headache:

The only thing I don't care for is in early fall when it can be 60 one day and 90 the next. I've used my A/C and my furnace and then my A/C again in the same week some years. Doesn't seem to happen in the spring, it just gradually gets warmer. In the fall, it's just fits and starts.

Otherwise I love everything to do with fall and winter. Summer is my least favorite season, I hate being hot, I hate mosquitos, I hate over-air conditioned buildings, I hate summer fashions, the list is almost endless!

In between wardrobes. It's much easier to maintain the kid'd clothes if it's straight hot or straight cold.

There's very little I DON'T like about Fall. But this would be a big one. Always having to pay close attention to the weather just so you know how to dress the kids the next day. But I LOVE most everything else about fall. I guess the other thing would be that fall here in the lower midwest is too short. "Real" fall doesn't start here usually until November. It's still in the 80's/90's here right now. I'm always waaaaay ready for fall before it really gets here.
Maybe I should move north. LOL

I dont do halloween and I hate turning the clock back. I love every thing else. Jo

Allergies!! I have issues year round but I think they are the worst in the fall.

Other than that, I love fall! Especially the crisp air and the beautiful foliage.

Me too. Today is one of those lovely fall days where it is in the mid-90's. I'm miserable but refuse to use the A/C in late September.:confused3 Personally, I would be quite content if the temperature never went above 70. Love Fall and Winter.:hippie:

Leaf removal. I hate raking. Blowing is slightly better but not much. It's just a prize pain.

Like tomorrow? My eyes nearly fell out of my head when the Weather Channel reported it's going to be at least 85 degrees here.. That's why I don't take out my a/c until very, very close to the time I leave the lake - even if it's in November..

By Saturday & Sunday it will be in the low 60's - with rain on Sunday as well.. Weird weather..

I don't like Autumn. I find it very depressing. The worst part is the days growing shorter.

I agree! I get SO depressed in the fall. I was never a big fan of school, so I didn't like that summer was over and I had to go back to school when I was younger.

Days are shorter and darker - I leave for work it's dark and I'm inside all day with no windows and I come out and it is dark!

Baseball season ends.

Winter is coming.

Allergies.

Ughhh I need to move somewhere that does NOT have fall! :)
