I had those at my old house and they were enough to make me want to tear my hair out.. They were all over the outside of the house - and if you stepped outside, they were all over you.. Finally figured out how to kill them - since traditional pesticides and such don't work.. Spray the outside of your house with a mixture of Palmolive dish liquid and water (there's a thingee you can buy that attaches to your garden hose to put this mixture into).. Do it faithfully for a few days and they'll be gone - as in "dead" - not just washed away to return the next day.. Also, if you have boxelder trees in your yard, make sure you cut them all down and spray the nests (a clump of tiny red dots).. Boy - I sure don't miss them!!
And worst of all, it means that my time is running real short here at the lake and I'll have to head back to my DD's for the winter..![]()
And it seems like such a l-o-n-g time for April to get here so we can start going back up again.
This.........I'm in Buffalo. I don't care that the calendar says winter is 3 months long. It's more like 6-8 in our neck of the woods!I hate the fact that winter comes next and last for about 6 months here in Maine.
I love those "sneak in" days!I love autumn and winter.
The one thing I hate about autumn is when one of those hot summer days sneaks its way into autumn. Everything is going fine with the cool, crisp days and wham, you get hit with a scorcher.

I think that is what we have in New Orleans with a few winter days sneaking in on occasion.I actually love autumn but I hate that winter is just lurking around the corner. If it could be autumn until oh...March and then have spring, I'd be great with that.![]()
I will have my a/c on until at least Dec. Jan/Feb it can be cold or hot. Then summer starts again in March. I can go all winter without turning on my heat.I love autumn and winter.

In between wardrobes. It's much easier to maintain the kid'd clothes if it's straight hot or straight cold.
I love autumn and winter.

I'm miserable but refuse to use the A/C in late September.
Personally, I would be quite content if the temperature never went above 70. Love Fall and Winter.

That's why I don't take out my a/c until very, very close to the time I leave the lake - even if it's in November..I don't like Autumn. I find it very depressing. The worst part is the days growing shorter.
I hate fall so very much. I hate HW, which returns in the fall. I hate the naked trees at the end of the fall. I hate Halloween. I hate the cool weather. I hate winter and fall means winter is next. I am surely a summer girl.
I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't get all gushy talking about "Oh, I just lo-o-o-ove fall! It's my FAVORITE season! blahblahblah." Give me a good ole' 82 degree day in the middle of June any time!
I don't like mums.
I don't like to see the leaves turning brown and falling off the trees.
I don't like back to school sales.
Although, pumpkin pie helps ease the pain.
