Personally I think people need to get over it, it is nothing that you don't see on prime time TV from 9+ every night. Kinda thought it was funny.

The most offensive thing TO did this week was celebrate on the Cowboys star.

I agree....change the channel if you find something offensive!

never really liked nicolette sheridan in the first place...I'd say she was DESPERATE for some publisity.....

agreed--especially with the star---im a dallas fan!
but i laughed,,i watch the show and thought it was funn

I had two thoughts:

1. What time did it air? I assumed Monday Night Football started at 9pm...which is the same time Desperate Housewives airs on another night...so why is one a big deal and one not?

2. Has anyone but me considered the possibility that Nicolette Sheridan used to be a man? After seeing that clip, and then some pics of her at a recent awards show, I have been wondering.

Not much. The most disturbing thing to me is that she now looks like a transvetite...someone ought to bring that plastic surgeon up on charges!

I'm outraged that it was Nicollette instead of Eva.

I didn't see the incident as being more extreme than anything else on tv (ex: Miller Light commercial with girls wrestling in the fountain, Levitra etc....).

MNF is live in all timezones, so it was on at 6PM on the West Coast, whereas Desperate Houswives is on later.

Personally, I don't "get" the big hubbub over this. While watching the 6:30 national news last night I saw video of an acutal killing. (Yes, you read that right.) I was much more disturbed by that then I ever would be by seeing someone's naked back!

I didn't think much of it, but some things to consider are; the fact that, although it was 9:00 on the East coast, it was 6:00 on the West coast, there have been several recent news stories involving athletes as sexual predators, it sends the wrong message to children about what's more important, loyalty to your team and teammates or your own satisfaction, the always present inter-racial taboo among others.

I think both ABC and the NFL were very short-sighted in this promotion.

I didn't have a problem with the commercial, but I can see how some people might. Monday night football is on at 9:00 on the east coast. However, it is shown live across the country, so in places like Vegas, it starts at 6:00. This is something people should keep in mind.

Edited to add: Got interrupted while typing reply and missed the two previous posts. Sorry for duplication.

Can someone explain what the commercial was about?

I thought it was hilarious!

Someone pointed out on the radio this morning that there are shampoo commercials worse than this.

Sexual predator? Terrel Owens? Um, that would be Nicolette's character who threw herself at him. No attacking, no saying no, on either part.

Big deal out of nothing. I can't believe the news media is still talking about it!

Ohmari - Nicolette was in a towel in the locker room with Terrell Owens (football player). She was asking him to skip the game and stay with her. Eventually she dropped her towel, he said forget the game and they embraced. Then they show Susan and Lynn (2 characters from Desperate Housewives) saying "who watches this trash? Look at that woman, she seems so, desperate!" "I know what we can watch..." click to Monday Night Football.

How scandelous!!

The opening, which has generated complaints to ABC and the FCC, featured actress Nicollette Sheridan in the locker room, supposedly dressed only in a white towel. She drops the towel and jumps into the arms of Philadelphia Eagles star Terrell Owens. Sheridan was shown only from behind and above the waist after dropping the towel.

From cnn.

Thanks for the explanation. I only watch MNF when the Packers play.

I thought it was tasteless I also felt that it stereotyped athletes.

I didn't see the opening. I am not a Nicolette fan. Not because of the parts she plays on tv but what I saw of her behavior a few years ago in person. I was at an Champ car (similar to Indy cars) race in Monterey California and Nicolette was there with her on and off again boyfriend Joey Gian (he played her boyfriend Tom on Knots Landing). I ran into them a couple of times and she was dressed like, well....use your imagination. Being mostly naked at a race is bound to get you attention but there's name for them in the racing community - "pit lizards". She also looked very unsteady on her feet and looked like she was on something. The race teams all have hospitality tents set up for their guests, sponsors, etc. and always have a breakfast spread and then lunch and refreshments set out. I was at the Target tent (where I got to meet my hero Joe Montana who was part owner of the team at that time) and in stumbled Nicolette and Tom. She looked like a mess and they both acted high. The first thing they did was go grab a beer and headed to the buffet table. Nicolette went to a tray of finger sandwiches and began to pick each one apart to see what they were and then putting it back. They got a few things, ate, grabbed another beer and left. I know it's not a corporal offense to finger the finger sandwiches but I thought it was tacky. Here she is an invited guest there and they have a nice buffet and.....Oh well, I'm glad I already had a finger sandwich before that because no more for me after seeing that. LOL. Sorry to rant but there are always several celebrities at the races and all the ones I've seen and/or met show a lot more class than her.

This is the first I've heard of it, so I obviously didn't see it. But, it sounds funny to me. :)

I didn't get a vicarious thrill out of it like you did, Joe.

I can see where a dad watching football with his son might find it embarassing to be blind-sided by that unnecessary crap. Those buffoons running the networks are out in left field, but it wasn't even funny, which was the most egregious sin of the whole incident.
