No DDP this time, and we have 3 children - 8,6 and 2. I want to place a GG order to have delivered - what do you use for breakfast in the room or on the go??

thanks!:lovestruc

We eat in the room to save time and $$. I usually bring our dry goods, like snacks and cereal and order water, juice, milk, fruit, bread and yogurt from gg. I also bring to-go coffee cups w/me and occasionally bowls. Here are some ideas:

* cereal
* bagels w/ peanut butter
* cereal bars
* bananas
* yogurt
* poptarts

You could aslo do frozen waffles or muffin tops or order a box of donuts or muffins.

There are toasters in the food courts if you are not DVC.

Pop tarts. We actually took them down in our suitcases and that is what we ate most mornings. No one wanted to wait around and eat anyways, we wanted to get rolling. Plus, I would rather sleep than eat breakfast ;) so it had to be quick for me

We get a suite w/ a full kitchen but breakfasts are still very light. My kids are 9 & 5 and while they want breakfast 2 minutes after waking up, they don't eat much.

Milk with one of the following:

yogurt granola bars
bananas w/peanut butter
made-ahead oatmeal (it keeps in the fridge)
made-ahead pancakes
cereal
egg sandwich
tortillas! (my kids love a tortilla warmed, add cheese or egg and roll up)

We take portable snacks to the parks with us because they'll want something else an hour or so later.

bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, cereal and milk, orange juice, and
bananas for breakfast...Seriously saves time and money...
just make sure you have silverware and bowls and cups!

We stayed at CBR last time, so we only had access to the small fridge. However, we purchased peanut butter, bananas, bread, granola bars, bagels,mini cereal boxes and apples for storage outside the fridge. Inside, we kept yogurt/gogurt, grapes and strawberries, milk, cream cheese, string cheese,and beverages. Easy to make combos for breakfast, and no one was ever hungry until lunch.

We bring down cereal & pop tarts.

I buy milk from the resort.

I usually bring to much too.

I have brought down oatmeal packets but that was when it was just dh & I.

I have done bagels too.

I am planning on a few boxes of mini muffins and pop tarts. They travel well (to the bus stop to wait for the buses) and don't need refrigeration. I will probably also grab some fruit and maybe some regular size muffins for the adults.

I will probably also have some chips or other "munchies" for our nap trips back to the resort and down time between parks/adr's/ etc.

For us it is a time for my kids to eat all those junkie (and relatively expensive) breakfast things that they want all year long and I always say no :rotfl: Now when we are on vacation they can have:

toaster strudels
pop tarts
frozen chocolate chip pancakes/waffles
those crumb cakes/danishes

and all the sugared cereal they want!

Usuallly bring/pick up
Instant oatmeal packets
Bananas
Applesauce
Croissants/bagels
Cereal
I would rather eat these quickie breakies and be on my way, then spend time in a restaurant. My kids are perfectly content to eat and watch the TV while we get ready for our day out and about the world.

We drive from Michigan so we take a cooler with:
1/2 gallon of orange juice (frozen)
1/2 gallon of milk (frozen)
Both of the above double as ice packs in our cooler and are still icy when we arrive at our hotel.

We also take:
Individual serving boxes of cereal (for variety)
Pop Tarts
Granola bars
plastic spoons
bowls

We start our drive with donut holes so that the kids can eat while we are driving.

Pop tarts, cereal, instant breakfast, milk, OJ, fruit, muffins, for the parks water bottles, granola bars, trail mix or chex mix. My sil makes pb&j sandwiches for the park and puts them in a container so they don't get squashed and freezes yogurt and carrys them in a plastic bag. Linda :)

This year I am doing instant oatmeal. I found last year the "big" breakfasts at the food court made me too lathargic. I need my oatmeal in the AM.

DH and DD are going to share a food court breakfast and bring me milk and hot water.

(We are free dining, so sharing one CS meal for breakfast is a great way to stretch out those CS meals).

We buy milk from the resort gift shop and keep it in our fridge.

I also usually bring some cereal and Quaker instant oatmeal down with us in the suitcase.

Our routine is a bit unorthodox, but it has been working for us for years when we travel.

The two things that we seem to walk best on are a combo of a sweet starch and some protein, so what we bring (or mostly buy at Publix when we stop for groceries on the way in) are some kind of sweet breads, such as muffins and/or pound cake, and some deli ham, plus milk and not-from-concentrate orange juice (I'm an OJ snob, I admit it.) We also bring some coffee from home to use in the hotel's coffee maker, as DH is the only one who drinks it, and he likes his good stuff.

So that's however many morning's muffins x 4, or a whole loaf cake, plus 1-2 lbs. of deli ham, and a half-gallon each of 1% milk and orange juice. We just eat the ham slices out of hand, rolled up. We pick up some plastic cutlery and a roll of paper towels, too.

Our kids only eat cereal dry, as a snack -- we take it into the parks in baggies for that.

Since my niece is lactose intollerant, she can't eat much in the room.

I'm packing cereal and will get some soy milk (food court) to keep in the fridge.

I will pack some oatmeal for myself and use the coffeemaker to heat the water. Might pack a few granola bars.

When my friend/neighbour goes to the grocery store I will have her pick up some fruit for me, as they will rent a car to get to US/IOA.

This was my shopping list (I saved it) that I had with Wegoshop.com (which will save you money compared to GG, FYI). We had stuff for breakfast and snacks in the room and at the park, as you can see by the list. BTW, you can boil water for oatmeal inside the coffee maker if you room has one. If you don't have one in the room you can buy a small one and pack it with you or have it shipped to the resort. :goodvibes
