I thought it would be interesting to learn about each other.

I'll start...

I have been a SAHM for 12 years. Had part time jobs here and there.
Started an at home secretarial business, actually had 1 client that kept me busy full time--THAT was nice!!
Now we are starting up a sign-painting business. DH has been one for almost 30 years and has always wanted a sign shop. So, with me not "working" it allows me time to build it up.
I guess you could call me the "sign painters apprentice".

How about you? :listen:

I'm in high school. I guess you could say that my job is cleaning my room and getting good grades. But my passion is talking! :flower:

This is Twinkles6892 I hate it when I post as my mom. I guess that's what I get for using her computer!

Hiya :)

Currently I am an Alumni Relations Assistant in a university (doing the website, replying to emails, helping with events and marketing etc). But I am really hoping for a job in the community where I can use my (British) Sign Language more and more!

Nice to meet you :)

I'm an HR recruiter, at least for the next few months. I left my job in the creative arts to take this job almost 3 years ago. This has been an interesting ride, but this job is moving to New Jersey and I won't be going with it. :( I'm thinking my next career choice will be either back in the creative arts with the company I am working for, or I'll be an art teacher in the public school system. Still trying to work all that out now.

Currently I'm a Financial Analyst for a Class II Railroad. I am working on starting a bookkeeping business out of my home as I want to be home more with my kids, but it's slow getting started and my accountant's mind won't let me just quit and jump in feet first with no safety net.:)

I also help my parents in our family business. It's a Campground here in South Dakota, so in the summer, we are very busy...but its fun and I can take the kids with!

I'm a data entry/shipping & receiving clerk for a cold storage warehouse (frozen food). Also work 2 nights a week waiting tables to pay for private school tuition. Am a certified medical transcriptionist which I did for a while from home but wasn't able to stay very focused and directed at home (thought of way to many things that needed to be done around the house when I should have been typing). There are a few transcription providers locally that I've been offered jobs at but none of them would allow me the flexibility that I have here and while yes production wise I would make more money per hour, they are smaller companies and the medical insurance is like 3x what I pay here.

DH is an alarm technician/installer, he has been doing that just going on a year now, last year he learned a very hard and painful lesson....(don't work for someone that you go to church with) which brought him to the job he is in now and he really likes it.

I am a Mortgage Loan Processor with Chase Manhattan. I have done mortgage loan processing for over 20 years (with a little time off being a SAHM)

My official title is admin assistant to the manager of BioMed Facility and Support Services here at the med school.
In reality I am the Princess and I run the castle (our downtown research facility)

Just starting out as a programmer in the Corporate Information Department of a large life insurance company next week. :)

I am the director of a pre-school and I also teach a 3 year old class which I love. :flower:

My boss used to be titled "Princess of Quite Alot"...I believe you could have that title quite easily :)

I'm a program manager for a global biotech company.

I manage the Customer Accounts Department, the Data Collection Dept. and Record Retention Dept. at a brokerage firm in downtown Chicago. I have been here for 20 years.

I'm an Operations Manager for a physician billing company.

I run my own business with Discovery Toys. It allows me to stay home with the kids!

Mostly I'm a SAHM. But I'm also a professional childbirth assistant or "Doula". I take about 2-3 clients a month (sometimes I'm gone for 2 days at a time depending on the mothers labor). I LOVE what I do!!! It's EXTREMELY fulfilling and rewarding :flower:

I am a full time travel agent...for the past 15 years. Though with baby #2 on the way, I'd like to find a way to either stay home, OR switch to part time...so who knows what the future holds.
