Oh come on, live a little!! We went with a 2 1/2 year old, 9 month old and a pregnant wife and still had a blast. (We did take SIL to help out a little bit.) Seriously, you might want to try it a second time to see if it was as bad as the first. A lot of times with kids it can be night and day for no particular reason. Whatever you decide, enjoy!

Are there any grandparents around to take care of the yet to be born, little one???

Our first trip to Disney World with the kids was in 2001. Our four boys were 6, 5, and twins who were 11 months old. Also had a blast.

You could do like us...schedule a last minute trip before the baby arrives! I'm due in Sept--so we're heading down next month to get our "fix" as we probably won't go until next summer or so....the new baby would be about 10 mos.

Congratulations!

I understand that feeling. We joined DVC in summer 2002 and my wife refused a trip to WDW until our 'baby' was at least 1 and a half. So, we didn't take our first trip until Dec 2003. Our prior trip was to DLP in summer 2000, so it was a 3+ year wait.

After joining DVC, the wait got slower... and longer... and ... slower... and ... loooonnger... ... ... and then the last couple months of planning just flew by!

Hang in there. A long wait just makes you appreciate it that much more!

We have gone down there twice while my wife was 7-8 months pregnant...

No place better to rest those feet than a poolside lounge chair.. :teeth:

My DD's first trip to WDW was when she was 6 weeks old. This was before DVC. We stayed at the Polynesian, without microwaves, fridge, etc. When I think how much easier traveling with a newborn would be now, with your 1BR unit, full kitchen and washer and dryer, I would not hesitate for a minute to go with a newborn, now.

I'd take an infant (2+ months) to Disney over an 18 month old any day of the week! :D Infants sleep (albeit not all night) in their stroller and are generally happy just looking at the sites or playing with a toy. Those 18 month toddlers...well...you have to chase them around a lot! :hyper:

However, depending on the situation (nursing, getting up in the middle of the night, etc.)...your DW will be pretty tired...so she might not feel like traipsing through the parks all day. Maybe a nice time at the resort/pool, a little time at the parks here and there and an afternoon at the Spa.

You need a Chef Gordon (is that his name? from HH) to come to your villa to cook for DW on the trip!

I agree with Katie. I loved traveling with my new babies. They were not stuck on a routine yet, ate, slept anywhere and the worst of it was bringing extra diapers and clothes. A baby sling works great as does the strollers. They will go to sleep pretty much anywhere. Now when they got a bit older and were set with naptimes it was a bit more diffcult. I too would go with a newborn over an 18 months anytime. GOod luck with your decision and whatever decision you make enjoy the special time with your new baby. They grow up so quickly.
