I joined in '89. with my Army service I've got 8 left to do. Talk about wishing our lives away!

I hit 15 this year in AZ so I could buy my 5 from SD and Retire but that is a lot of $ for the 5 years. If I wait till I hit 20 in AZ the 5 from SD are a lot cheaper then it will give me 25 in AZ....true about wishing our lives away....well not wishing them away just wishing the next few years moved along a little quicker. I'm an OR nurse and even get to take photographs in the OR here and there..a lot of the plastics guys take pics as well as the reimplantation docs(reattachments of fingers, limbs).

I'm a police corporal for a small Kansas state agency. I also maintain a paramedic certificate and fire / rescue certifications so I do all sorts of public safety work.

I do a combination of IT work and being a "real manager" overseas for the US Gov't. The most challenging part of the job is managing our local-hires. Each country is always very different and require different tactics in managing people. Motivational techniques that work in the UK won't necessarily work in Egypt.

Before joining the USG after the last dip in the IT job market in 2001, I used to do a lot of teaching and higher-end IT work, infrastructure related. While I know my Trainer certification from Microsoft has lapsed, I'm still listed by Cisco as an instructor. I got into the international side because I did a bunch of contract teaching overseas in 2002 and thought that experiencing different cultures was neat.

I'll join in. I'm new here. I started out in the Navy. Did 4 years as an MA which is basically a military cop. After I got out I became a stay at home mom. After 2 years we needed a little more income so I worked retail when DH was not working. I got tired of that so now I drive a big yellow bus. It's not bad, I work a few hours in the morning then go back for a few more hours in the afternoon. For the most part the kids are good but there are always those few that drive you nuts but I only have them for a short time so it's not so bad. In my spare time I work for the local fire department driving their wheelchair van. Most of the time it's driving people home from the hospital that were taken in by ambulance and have no ride home.

As far as photography I'm just getting into it. I got a Canon XSI for Christmas so right now I'm just trying to learn as much as I can about it.

Guess I stopped surfing the boards as much when this was first posted...

I'm a chemist at a chemical manufacturing plant. We were recently bought out by a very large chemical company so a lot of changes are coming I think.

I'm in charge of the maintenance, chemistry and engineering of 3 out of 6 lines of production. My job is anything from being out on the plant with operators, to working with the quality control lab, to boring paperwork desk-job stuff. For the most part I like my job I do admit it's hard being a young female in this industry though... I've worked there for almost 3 years, I started right after I got out of school in 2006.

I have always been into artsy stuff and got into photography a few years ago when I got my bridge camera (Sony DSC-H5). In August I bought a Canon XSi and started taking classes at a local community college. I'm in my second semester and love it even though it's a bit overwhelming at times. I don't know if I'll go further with it (meaning attempt to make money off of it) but I absolutely love it so far

I own and run a Cruise Planners agency from my home in CT. I enjoy helping people plan their vacations and I get to do some travelling as well which just adds to the fun! In my younger days, I did medical research at Yale School of Med, but having kids sort of put an end to that.

I have been a photographer since I was a young child. I had a handmedown brownie camera, but my first sparkling new camera was a Sears Instamatic which my parents bought me for my fifth grade field trip to Old Sturbridge Village in MA. I still have those somewhat blurry black and white images, and have been hooked ever since!

I am a communications consultant for a large financial company based in MA. It basically means that I educate other large companies' employees about their benefits and 401k plans.

I like to think of myself as a good photographer, until I see the photos of really good photographers, then I realize I have a lot of work to do....I still have fun trying though......Mainly I take photos of my travels and of my 3 year old niece..

i'm a grad student in molecular biology and i work on breast cancer research. i'm never sure if the career path i made for myself is the right one yet. sometimes i wish i picked art conservation (i was an art history and studio minor in college and printmaking is my favorite) or pastry school. i always think that if grad school doesn't pan out, i'll try one of those 2 other options, but for now it seems i'm in for the long haul.

i didn't get into photography until maybe 3 years ago and i have a heck of a lot to learn. i bought my first dslr as a present for myself for getting into grad school. unfortunately, grad school takes up most of my time, so i don't get to learn about the camera as much as i would like. i find it very difficult to read books and understand the camera's function that way. i've basically just been playing around with settings on vacations and see what works and doesn't.

I am a nurse. I do home health as of right now. I had originally planned to be a teacher when I went to school. A friend suggested the medical field so I could move back to Ft. Laud area sooner (not going back). I really enjoy what I do, and may go a little further in school, though not at this time. What I need to do as I drive around, is take my camera with me!!! I see things all the time, that if I just had my camera....

I am now looking for my next career opportunity.

Recently, the board of trustees for the opera company I have been working for the past few seasons voted to cancel the balance of the current season. This past Friday was my last day.

Am I concerned? Yes, but I have already had a couple of interviews for new jobs. Later this afternoon I am having my second interview with another major performing arts group about directing their fundraising efforts. So I am cautiously optimistic.

And to make sure that I don't get stressed out , next week on the 21st I am flying down to WDW with my for a nice long weekend .
