What do you do with your trading pins after your trip?

I was trying to think of a fun way to display or look at these all year round. I've seen the books that you can get, they are kind of expensive. Does anyone have a fun way that they keep their pins all year long?

Thanks!

STARE AT THEM!!! :magnify:

But seriously…my DW started with a lanyard and then a year after I gave in and bought one for myself. We were able to keep all our pins on those for a while, but this past trip we had to upgrade to a pin book. We got a pretty good one for around $20 and it has 4 large pages. I thought this would never happen to me, but I guess I caught pin fever. And I do look at them ever so often. I can’t help it - they make me smile. :teeth:

Some people like to display them on the wall in a frame. Maybe someday I’ll do that too.

I think I'm going to purchase some cork board for mine and mount them to a wall or end of a shelf. I've been toying with the idea for a while because my pins are here, there and everywhere. I also have issues remembering which pins I've already purchased, so this would be great for keeping me organized as well.

I really like this idea...I must investigate it further. I'm currenly using old lanyards. Instead of keeping it in a loop, I have them straightened out and then I nailed the top to the wall.

Well DD made some banners out of fleece to hang around her room .But then when we redid her Tink room she wanted to limit the things on her walls. So she took a curtian that covers a util.closet and made that her storage .

I took a plain wood frame for about $5 (ok, I actually needed 3 frames) and stuck the pins in all around our fave pic from the World. Cheap and easy to take out for the next trip.

We bought a school binder and pieces of felt. Then, we punched holes in the felt and placed them in the binder. It wasn't expensive at all. It was also very easy to bring with when we went on our vaction.

i have my 100+ pins displayed on 2 separate 2" wide black grosgrain ribbons (6' long) that are attached to the top ends (hanging down) of a bookcase in the living room - the heaviest pins are on the bottom, keeping it "weighted" down - bought the ribbons at the craft store, doubled the length (to support the weight of the pins)

DH owns a frame store & after our May trip I am going to try & talk DD11 & DS8 into letting daddy put the special ones they have, that we know they'll never trade, into shadowboxes to hang in our Disney family room that we are working on (and it's taking FOREVER to finish). :)

Hah....good luck with that mommy :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
I'm not gettin rid of any of my pins!

Nothing at all fancy here. I simply have all 5 of our lanyards on a coathanger in our closet. I don't want to let the kids play with theirs because they'll loose one, I'm sure. They can take it down and look at them in our room anytime they would like to also. Best of all, when I'm getting my outfit out for the day I see it and it helps me have a Disney day until I can be back in the World!

I put them on the curtain tie backs in our living room. Kinda cool looking...

I keep mine on my camera straps-- I have a film and a digital camera. :)

DH has a LARGE cork board with maps of each park & DTD on the cork board & has his pins on the maps according to which area they are relevent to. It is nice looking & people love to look at his board & remember their trips thru our pins & maps.

Wow, am I the only one that actually USES them after I get back home? I wear one to work every day (different ones w/different outfits, different days). I work w/kids and they always love my disney pins (not to mention my disney office).

I got my idea from someone here on the Dis. Unfortunatly, it was quite a while ago or I would give credit where credit is due. All it is, are 3 needlepoint hoops, 2 small (ears) and 1 large (head) and some black felt. :earsboy:

I am not the most creative person or I probably would have put the ears not so lopsided. Here is a pic:

This is where I display my pins I don't want to trade. I thought it was a cute idea, I'm glad I thought to borrow it. :teeth:
Seriously though, Thank You to whom ever thought it up.

I bought some inexpensive backpack strapping and hang the straps off the corners of my bulletin board. I have 3 total 2 on one side and one on the other. Here is a pic of one:

This is my favorite idea yet. Thanks for sharing! BTW, I like your pins. I have a "Keys To The Kingdom" pin too.

I bought a few shadow boxes at the local craft store and display them in there along with some postcards. Looks great and the pins stay clean and it is easy to add new ones when I get them. :woohoo:
