isn't it tradition that the top portion of the cake is put in the freezer and eaten on the 1st anniversary of your wedding?

well, how do I get the cake home when I'm going straight to my honeymoon from orlando? haha. I don't even know what to do with the cake in the first place... I guess take it back to our room and put it in the mini fridge? then what? should I give it to my mom who is driving back to texas? even though I live in syracuse? ... I'm already giving my mom my wedding dress to take back to texas because I don't want to carry it to aruba.

No one went home immediately, so I had a joyous week eating it. My mom and aunt had the last piece when we got home from the honeymoon. We didn't even order enough for the top to be left over, but needless to say it was left over. Mom tried to get the baker to make a duplicate top for my birthday the next year (only a week from our anniversary), and she never returned her calls. I am not too sentimental about that stuff. A lot of bakers (I don't think Disney) have a duplicate top in the contract for the 1 year anniversary.

in the uk its traditional to have fruit cake and the top layer is frozen and then you eat it for your anniversary or your babies christening i think some people keep it for

After the reception the caterers put it in a box for us and wrapped it up with plastic wrap and foil and my mom took it home for me and my DH and a year later we ate it on our anniversary, it was still good! infact i barely ate any at the wedding so it was nice to actually sit down and have a peice.

We had quite a bit of cake leftover, but there was no way to get it back to NC, even though some of our families were driving...they were in Florida too long. We spent the week eating it...which means no cake-topper for our anniversary. It was originally hard to accept, but I plan on going back to WDW for our anniversary and getting a mini-cake of some sort! :) By the way, the cakes are absolutely delicious!!!!! :)

I gave it to my mom after dinner & she took it back to her room and had it for a snack & breakfast...she was so funny...she was in heaven & said it was the best breakfast ever.

My & Dh were flexible, we were ok with her taking it & not saving it:banana:

we will probably end up eating it and sharing it with everyone for the next day or so after that.... maybe I can get my DF to take me to Disney for a proper Disney Trip on our one year anniversary and we can have cake then! or better yet.. rice crispie treats.. my DH LOVES those! I wonder if I could get a small cake made out of rice crispie treats! hmmmmm..... :)

thanks guys!

*edit* will you look at that? i'm already calling him my husband! (DH) lol!

We sat in bed one night during our honeymoon & ate it...we ended up getting into a bit of a frosting fight! So YUMMY!
