What do you do with Anoles when

you go out of town? I am going to ask the person caring for my dogs to spray the tank, but not sure if they will.

How long are you going to be gone?

We have left ours for over a week and she (or he not sure) has been fine. I do put crickets and cricket food in there and move it closer to the window so the light can warm it some and it has been fine.

I will be leaving Thursday (Thanksgiving morning) and coming home Sunday.

Put some water in a low lying bowl and if they get REALLY thirsty they will drink it!

Jill...who now has two anoles thanks to ds's unit on them in school last year..

Wow, I'm impressed!!! Our anoles never lasted mor than a few days after the ride home from school. We never even made it to the weekend, much less out of town!!!

As long as you feed them pretty close to when you leave and leave a shallow dish (deep enough that it won't evaporate in that amount of time but shallow enough so that they won't drown) of water out for them they should be more than fine. We load up ours w/crickets either the day of or the day before we leave before a vacation, someone comes in to give them water, and they've been fine for three weeks.

Also, we rarely spray ours. They always come down for a drink from the dish.

Uh... we leave them out in the yard where they belong. Once in a while one will get in the house and we gently pick it up and put it back outside.

Yes, I have heard stories from my SMIL about them in the house, she doesn't like them at all, but being in FL does have to deal with them!

If we put ours outside, it wouldn't last long around here......... it's only 35' out there right now........ burrrrrrrr

BTW, we have left ours a few times........... oldest brought it home at the begining of 5th grade after that science unit was done............................................................ she is now in 8th grade!

I thought it wouldn't last long, boy was I wrong, but thankful that she is still kicking! And eating crickets!
