What Do You Do With a Nine Pound Lemon?? LINK TO NEW TR!

Nikki
I have really enjoyed several of your trip reports, so I am coming out of "lurkdom" to say how much I am enjoying your fall trip. I have never been to the Food and Wine Festival or MNNSHP, so I am looking forward to your impressions and pictures! I may just have to plan a trip for next fall...:cloud9:

I feel so honored that you came out of lurkdom on my post!!! Keep chiming in! I'd love to hear your thoughts. :thumbsup2

Haha! When I do a post, I literally have FIVE photobucket windows open, all set to a different album. One being the good camera, one with the small camera, one with the vid camera that also takes stills, one for Erin's pics and one with photopass! It's a LOT to keep organized when doing a post! I think I've been doing a pretty good job but there is one that I missed. I knew I had this picture but just didn't see it when I was talking about how excited everyone would get when they passed the F&W booth that just said, "CHEESE." Seriously, just stand in that area and every few minutes someone would come around the corner and see the stand and shout, "CHEESE!"

See? Erin was excited about it too!

Friday September 30, 2011 ~ Busiest Day Ever!

We last left off having finished off beer flights # 1 and 2, meeting a DISer and snacking on some cheese!

As we made our way into Germany, we saw a line forming for Snow White and figured we'd get on it! She wasn't there at the moment but we were told she'd be back shortly.

We struck up a conversation with the photopass photographer and found out she was from the NY/NJ area. She was thrilled to be talking to us and frankly, did a lot of complaining about the lifestyles of the people down south. We all totally understood...it's just very different but it was a little awkward!

Finally, Snow White appeared and we got our pictures.

It seems like we've done so much in WS already, but we were only in Germany! That's only 4 countries in for those who are not fluent in Epcot. ;)

OH! I forgot to mention that as we rounded the corner to Germany (before all the cheese and beer) we saw some crocs flips that I urged Tom to buy. His Reefs were thrown out before the trip and we never really had time to buy new ones. I really wanted him to have flips because I thought he would be more comfortable and everyone RAVES about Crocs right?

DSC_0276.jpg

At first, he LOVED them.....for maybe 5 minutes.....

Anyway, we then made our way to Italy where Tom did his best "Spanish Stacy" impression. Spanish Stacy doesn't exist anymore....in fact, Stacy wasn't even her name! I'm sure you all know who Stacy is.....well a few years ago, there was also a Spanish version of the Top 7 Must Sees (which is was back then) and we LOVED her! But our favorite was that she's in Epcot talking about the different countries, how France is so beautiful and romantic and Japan has such culture....then cut to her in Italy and she's doing this face and just goes, "Mama Mia... SPAGHETTI!"

We then made our way to probably my favorite pavilion on Epcot....AMERICA!!

DSC_0298.jpg

DSC_0284.jpg

After stopping to get Conor a Kielbasa and Potato Pierogie with Carmelized Onions and Sour Cream from Poland.....

DSC_0285.jpg

The Fife and Drum had just ONE added item for Food and Wine....the Red Stag Lemonade by Jim Bean. Erin got one....

DSC_0286.jpg

...and after asking for a sip, I think I drank more of it! Sorry Erin!! It was amazingly good!

We took some pics by the fountain....

DSC_0289.jpg

Erin found a pin she liked....

DSC_0290.jpg

I found as shirt I liked.....I've loved that quote for a while and that it was so cool they put it on a t-shirt!

DSC_0294.jpg

Watched a little Fife and Drum (love it!)

DSC_0299.jpg

And Gary and Erin stopped for some food and Hops and Barley...

Linda Bean's Lobster Claw Cuddler with Drawn Butter and Linda Bean's Perfect Maine Lobster Roll

DSC_0292.jpg

No thank you! I'm not a seafood person AT ALL!

DSC_0293.jpg

Then it was time to move on.....

DSC_0300.jpg

I'm pretty sure these next to things come from New Zealand but I can't be positive. Looking at the menus, I THINK they are the Seared Sea Scallop with Kumara Red Curry Puree and Apple Radish Salad and Lamb Slider with Tomato Chutney.

DSC_0301.jpg

DSC_0302.jpg

Moving on, we stopped in Morocco for some "look at how awesome World Showcase is!" shots as well as "look at this hidden mickey" shots.

DSC_0304.jpg

DSC_0305.jpg

I remember we then stopped to use the bathroom and Gary was stuck with the problem of having two delicious foods in his hands with no means to eat them!

DSC_0306.jpg

Hmm, guessing again but I'm thinking this is from Belguim: Steamed Mussles with Roasted Garlic cream and a Baguette.

DSC_0307.jpg

And I'm pretty sure Conor got a Belguim waffle but for some reason, there is no picture! SHOCKER!

At this point, Erin and I had to go to the Wide World of Sports to pick up our race packets so we all walked towards the front.

This picture is sort of an inside joke. Some of you might have seen the youtube video of some movie with Hitler...and someone put the subtitles to express how angry he is about not being able to get a reservation at Le Cellier and how much the Electric Umbrella sucks! It's really funny! So we wanted a picture of us standing in front of the Electric Umbrella with the thumbs down. I even asked the person who took this picture to get the sign in (it was above our heads) but clearly, he cut it off. Oh well!

DSC_0308.jpg

Up Next: I can't believe there's this whole place in Disney World that I've never seen before!!!

loving the food pictures....yum!
i have never seen that video before I'll have to look it up. Whats it called?

Great update! You guys try so much from F&W! I was just telling Brandon before that I feel like we didn't get much done at F&W, and we were there for 10 days! :scared1: Guess that means we need to go back someday! :rotfl:

I got in line to meet Snow White, but after I noticed I was the only one in line without a kid, I left...I don't know why, but I felt so stupid! :sad2:

I was wondering how that Red Stag lemonade was, it sounds yummy!

That shirt is so cute, I remember seeing it last year and wanting to get it, but for some reason I forgot! :confused3

That video with Hitler and Le Cellier sounds so funny, I'm going to have to look that up!

I would have shouted cheese when I saw that sign too!

Oh, Croc flip flops. I don't like them. They give me blisters. :sad2: I can empathize with what Tom was probably feeling.

Love the enthusiastic WS pictures. That's how I feel all the time at Disney. I'm sure you do too. ;)

Alright, I'm going to see if I can find it. I think it's been taken off youtube and put back on because I remember the first time I saw it, it was different...this was years ago....okay, let me look......

Nikki, I am not a seafood person either. The only seafood I eat is tuna, and I mean the kind that comes out of a can, and even that I won't eat often. I have tried a couple things, I had hoped to broaden my horizons for Jack's sake, but no, I just don't like it!!

I had a Red Stag lemonade at an Outback in Fort Lauderdale before our Carnival cruise in May and it was delish! I had only heard of them in relation to Florida, never seen them anywhere else, and I don't know why!

I had to de-lurk to comment on this. This sign would be one of my BFF's favorite things ever. I've enrolled her in the cheese of the month club several times, and she dreams of opening a shop called Queso Facil.

Enjoying the report!

yum food! I'm with you with the seafood... partly because I'm allergic...but yeah I use to eat some hehe

You guys look like you ate some pretty delicious "meals".

Just found your TR and have thoroughly enjoyed. Love the puzzle you bought. I bought an iphone cover on my trip earlier this month with the same print.

I never saw Illuminations without the blowing out the torches thing. That's weird.

I love Off Kilter and saw a few sets this month. Have you seen the new British Revolution? I caught the end of one of their shows and they were awesome! Can't wait to see them again.

The Hitler thing was so funny! And so true! I haven't been to LeCellier in 10 years!

Hey Nikki, Just read your trip report so far and glanced at a few of the others you did and had to laugh. It seems we have been to the parks at the same time on a few of the trips. I was there over the 4th of july 2010, and this last trip. We ran the half this year and I believe we might have even crossed paths at the expo as I was also their friday afternoon. I just had to say how intertaining your reports are and cant wait to read more. :thumbsup2

Phew! All caught up, you are an update machine Nikki :teeth:

Loving all your updates, great DHS day :) It's a shame the FP that the CM gave you was for use the next day, but the thought was there :)

You guys look like you had so much fun at F&W, its such a fun time of year to visit, you were making me all nostalgic :)

V cool that the CM for TT let you guys back on the ride, only in Disney :)

Looking forward to more :)

Okay, this is not the original one that was out a few years ago about specifically Le Cellier but it's still very funny!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlfc8zZF7Wc

OH and don't watch with kids around!

I am waaaaaay back here trying to catch up- and OMG!!! Who came up with that stuff??? :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'll be back later for more comments- I just had to say something about The Electric Umbrella Sucks! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The first time we did F&W, we didn't try as much. This time we were prepared and made no breakfast or lunch plans that day so it was ALL F&W!

I would have shouted cheese when I saw that sign too!

Oh he HATED them! I will hopefully remember to say more about it later tonight....

Stephanie, I'm totally the same way! Maybe tuna from a can if there's really nothing else around! I'm going to have to research that Red Stag lemonade! :thumbsup2

My mouth is watering! I cannot wait to go to the F&W Festival sometime!

It was all so delicious!!

That is so funny! It really made everyone happy just to see that sign! :lmao:

I just have NO desire to eat seafood AT ALL! And shrimp grosses me out so much that once Tom's cousin accidentally spilled water at the bottom of a bowl of shrimp all over me and I literally cried.

The puzzle is complete and it's so awesome! I have not seen the new British band yet but hope to in February. :thumbsup2

That is so funny! We seem to be on the same disney trip schedule! Glad you posted!

I'm still sad that our dates didn't cross like we originally thought but it was probably for the best with how busy it my trip was!

So funny, right?! I'm telling you, the original one was way funnier but it must have been removed for one reason or another. There's on where he's complaining about Epcot in general and saying how Eric Idle sucks and he missed the Dreamfinder! :lmao:

Friday September 30....STILL!

So after spending the morning and afternoon enjoying the Food and Wine festival, Erin and I had to hop on over to a place I had NEVER been before! :scared1:

IMG_4483.jpg

Again, no directions necessary, just followed the signs and there it was! I have to say, it was a little intimidating being someplace I had never been before. We had no idea where to go but eventually we saw what looked like it should be the right spot so we parked and made our way up...

100_0009.jpg

It was just so odd! I probably repeated at least 3 times, I can't believe this is Disney World and I've never seen it!

IMG_4484.jpg

100_0010.jpg

I don't remember the time frame exactly but Erin and I were in a HUGE rush! We had to find the expo, get back and get ready for 'Ohana AND MNSSHP! So the rushing, on top of being in a new place, had us completely giddy beyond belief!

We finally found the building to pick up our packets and again, I couldn't believe how much was there! It really is a Wide World of Sports! Haha!

IMG_4485.jpg

IMG_4486.jpg

100_0012.jpg

A little video of the "room" the packet pick-up was in.

Me getting my race stuff....

IMG_4490.jpg

IMG_4491.jpg

Erin getting her race stuff......

100_0015.jpg

IMG_4493.jpg

100_0016.jpg

Look at the size of those bags they gave us! Sheesh!

"Quick, take my picture!"

IMG_4494.jpg

Race materials in hand, we REALLY had to go if there was any chance of us showering before dinner/MNSSHP.....buuuuuut, the actual expo was in a different building and maybe we could just pop in to see it real quick.....

On the way into the expo, we spot this dedicated Disney running fan's cool tattoo and Erin managed to take a sneaky pic!

IMG_4498.jpg

Again, couldn't believe my eyes when we entered. I mean, what do they use all these buildings for? Tennis? Basketball? It was pretty cool!

100_0018.jpg

100_0019.jpg

Still giddy and giggling, we finally made our way back to the parking lot where it took a minute or two to find the car.....

IMG_4502.jpg

....and back to POR we went! Again with no directions, just signs. I'm sure we went around the mulberry bush every time I'm telling you "we just followed the signs" but even so, we made it to our destinations!

Up Next: Did we make it on time?!?!
