Just wondering what you all do when its a rainy day at disney? do you and your family have a special tradition? do you hit the amc or disney quest?

The same thing we would do if it weren't raining. We go to the parks and enjoy our day.

Chuck a rain mac on and make the most of it. The plus side is that the parks tend to get quieter :cool1:

Toss on a poncho and keep on going! A rainy day at Disney is better than a sunny day anywhere else!

Oh and if I'm in EPCOT I take off my socks, the community of tomorrow does not have the drainage system of the future IMHO! :rotfl2:

ROFLOL - touche'!

When it rains, I grab a poncho and head for Epcot, which is usually uncrowded. Since most of the Epcot attractions are indoors, you're only dodging raindrops for a short while between buildings. (It's like midtown Manhattan, lol) Even if the rain ends, that park doesn't fill up as quickly as MK.

grab the poncho. Mostly though you just get that afternoon shower and it's sunny again

Add us to the list of those that throw on a poncho and enjoy the empty parks. We remind ourselves that we won't melt, choose the clothes less likely to be uncomfortable when wet, and have a great time!

We wear ponchos and keep on enjoying the parks. We were there during Tropical Storm Fay last August and it didn't stop us. Actually, it didn't stop a lot of people!

We did Disney/Universal last year in late August-- tail end of Fay.
Maybe all of our pictures have us rocking bright blue Wonder Works ponchos (except for me-- I had the foresight to pack my bright blue Smithsonian institute poncho! hmph!), but lines were NEVER bad and we had a terrific time. We kept trucking through as if it were sunny-- and, often enough, we would remove the ponchos when we got too sweaty and just let the water hit us!

Here we are waiting for the Simpsons Ride (sans me-- the photographer!)-- sorry, not Disney! (Also sorry for the huge size of the picture!)

We like epcot b/c innoventions is nice in the rain b/c it's all inside and there's LOTS to do, also the world showcase had lots of shops and inside stuff to do.

We sit in the room and watch Stacy over and over and over and over and over....

No, really, we just go to the parks, or to Downtown Disney. The rain doesn't really alter the plans that much.

Unless it's truly monsoon-type weather, we just go on with our original plans! The parks are pretty empty, and the lines are short. Just wear a poncho and soldier on! Chances are, the rain will stop at some point and you'll have the advantage of smaller crowds!

We usually toss on a poncho and go, but it all depends on timing. If it's close to lunch or dinner, we adjust our time. We don't like eating wet.:rolleyes1

Have any of you used the ponchos from the Dollar Store? Are they strong enough to 'do the job'?

They are only good for emergencies, IMO. They are way too light to stay down, even in the slightest breeze. We have used clothespins to hold them in place. They are a good, inexpensive stroller cover though.

We "Poncho Up" and stay in the Parks to enjoy the popular attractions as hundreds scurry to the buses to leave:thumbsup2
