I was just thinking about this the last few days because work has been extremely stressful for me. Nothing bad, but a co-worker is out because of a death in her family. She has three major projects she is working on and I am watching over two of the three. On top of her projects are mine of course and a brand new one I get to start that I haven’t even had a chance to look at. So in short, I have had many moments this week where I feel like doing this

A few other things in my life have me a bit stressed too and I can tell it is taking its toll on me, as my eye twitches/spasms are back

Tuesday when I came home from work, I just sat around and vegged for a while. Last night driving home I just cried. I would love to get out and walk which is something I love to do when I am stressed out, but with the cold and snow that’s kind of hard to do here ;) I think crying and walking are two ways I just “let it all go” when this much is bothering me. So what do you all do when stressed? What is your best way to get it all out?

rats--that is a pretty common stress reliever actually...... ;)

Sometiems I just site, I pray, I read, I take a walk, etc...

ratsrule - you read my mind ! That's the first thing that came to my mind !

Elaine - sorry youre feeling overwhelmed right now. Take some time at home to relax, DIS, read, watch a movie, bubblebath. If the weather is ok go for a walk. And um go find Lewis.

What kind of patriotic duties, Spago? Do you mean things like "Give peace a chance?" :)

What I do depends how how stressed I am. If I am angry/stressed I do something physical

If I'm mopey/stressed I meditate, cuddle with the husband or the dogs, read, or play computer games.

I put on some music and dance and sing as loud as I can. An hour usually does it.

I like to promote peace. I think if everyone did their part, the people of this country would be a lot happier, and less stressed, too. :D

I try to do some yoga at least every other day. By the time I get to the meditation part of the routine, I'm half way asleep. A nice shower or bath after that helps too.

Walking is a good one -- if you can't do it outside, what about a mall?

I also will read, listen to music, do some craft stuff, or sleep.

Or, as Jenzebelle said, if I'm angry stressed, I tend to vent, vent, vent, and vent some more until I finally am not so angry. *then* I do the other stuff. :)

Think about/plan/research my next trip to "The World."

:smooth:

Jog
Yell
Dis
Make DH deal with the kids
Take a Jacuzzi Bath w/ candles
Have a good drink(or 2 or 3...), but that usually waits until Saturday

I follow the basic needs pattern. I overindulge in a couple of them when I'm stressed.

1. Do yoga or mentally rehearse the positions and breathing.
2. Watch tv for pure entertainment value especially shows from the past like "Family Affair."
3. Get together with a friend at Starbucks
4. Pray
5. Write in my journal
6. Do rughooking--Just visiting a craft store looking for a craft to do is fun.
7. Physical activity - if snow is a problem for walking, try a walk around the mall.

Used to be I'd go on a cleaning binge - just start throwing stuff out like a mad woman. Now that I have my gym membership, I find a 20 minute brisk walk on the treadmill calms my nerves wonderfully.
