What do you do during sea days?

This is probably a dumb question, but this will be my first time cruising. I will have 3 sea days, so I was curious how much stuff there is to do. I'm not worried about being bored, I'm just trying to gauge if I should bring more than one book or some handheld video games, or if I will be super busy and not need any of those things.

For context, we will be two adults around the age of 30. We will have a verandah.

Could you folks give me an idea of how a sea-day plays out? Like hour by hour or in general?

Well if I was at sea the now probably been sick

However if it's nice sea, we have a wee swim, go to the adult spa, have some cocktails, went to cocktail tasting classes, bingo, Aqua dunk, played a few rounds of mini golf and table tennis, watch a film at sea. Get some more food. Loads to do

I prefer sea days to port days, we picked the cruise with 3 sea days for that reason. The ship is always hopping on days at sea, there are activities going all day.

We have do the activities like bingo and trivia. Go to the pubs to relax. Go to the pool, the aquaduck. Sometimes we go to the spa, go for a jog, or just relax in the room and watch a movie

Lounging with a book is one of my favorite parts of the cruise. But on sea days, there is a lot of stuff going on, so you don't need to sit and read if you think that's boring! Check out navigators for past cruises for an idea of what they'll have going on hour by hour--movies, games, wine or cocktail tastings, etc. Plus swimming, trying out the slide, going to the spa, watching the ocean go by, eating brunch at Palo...

Very rarely in our lives is there a time where there isn't something to do, to go, to get done before I have to get the other thing done. So I choose to spend sea days not thinking about what to do but rather making the decision to just stop doing and relax. I take the day as it comes and try not to plan. Pools, Spa, lunch, lounge, read.... if it happens great if not there is always another sea day, another cruise (at least I hope so)

Relax as much as possible.....:goodvibes

Pretty much a lot of the things mentioned above:cool2:

Although things are subject to change, you can look at a recent navigator on disneycruiselineblog.com to get an idea of all the different offerings. Our staples are laying outside on a deck chair while the kids do the waterslide and picking a few movies to see over the week. We did the gingerbread houses on a Christmas cruise and that was a big hit. Mid-ship detective agency, mini golf and sports simulator if on the bigger ships. The kids pick and choose their time in the clubs based on activities there. My MIL likes to take the kids to towel folding classes which I do not understand. But there is something for everyone!

I read over 100 books a year. The week of my cruise we had 1 sea day and 2 port days when I didn't leave the ship. I barely finished a 200 page book during that week. There is so much to do! Trivia, swim, drink, eat, watch movies, go to a show, play shuffleboard, exercise, spa, and I'm sure I'm missing some things.

I usually spend most of my sea day sitting by the adult pool, cooling off at the pool/Satellite Falls, and having cocktails at the adult pool bar. Other activities we have experienced on sea day (especially when the weather doesn't cooperate) are massages, midship detective agency, movies, trivia, alcohol tastings, and of course our favorite, Palo Brunch

I've sailed without kids and 3 days at sea on the Eastern Carib itinerary. What a wonderful time. We've done spa, drink tastings, trivia, crafts, sitting on deck, sitting on the verandah, watching a movie. Sitting on deck some more. Eating (take advantage of any restaurants open for lunch/brunch/or breakfast that will serve you. We find them much more relaxing. (Pro Tip, did you know you can ask if your server or assistant is serving that morning and still be seated with them?)

I have only ever read a couple chapters of a book on a cruise and I have been on 2 transatlantic cruises, there is so many other things to do :)

Someone else who loaded my kindle with 14 books for an 11 days cruise and read 1. And I'm not even much of a joiner. I walked the ship - like a lot. I'm pretty sure I went down every allowable hallway. I did do a couple of trivia games. And my son and I loved the drawing classes. I always planned on going to the talks - never made it to one. I wanted to watch movies - watched one. In 11 days we never turned the TV on in our room. Somehow time passes differently on the ship. That said if playing video games is your way of relaxing, go ahead and bring them!

We like the longer cruises (7+ days) because there are more unusual activities during "at sea" days. On our WBTA we did the backstage tour and daily adult scavenger hunts. Now the captain's reception is only offered during the longer cruises. As stated above, your Navigator is your key.

I love trivia so play every game, and do every game of bingo. Sea days are my absolute favorite. We cruise again in 4 weeks and have 4 sea days. I can't wait. This trip I am adding Palo brunch and a massage to the mix.
