- try to get your preferred room
- print out of PSs
- turn on/off charging priviledges
- ?

I had a list before so once we got to the desk I knew exactly what I needed to ask. Can anyone add to this list? thank you

I'm easy....I say 'Hi, I'm here.' I give them my cc and they tell me where I'm sleeping!!! I've already got a ps print-out with me. I just 'take' whatever room they give me. Yep, I'm easy. Besides, the less time I spend 'chatting' at the front desk, is more time in the park or at the pool, or exploring a new resort.

Ditto Goofy4Tink..... The only difference is that I have to make sure I have a fridge for meds..... or that they can store them for us until we do have one.

never hurts to politely ask for that complimentary upgrade:)

I ask for a specific building or something close to it. I also call CRO weeks before and put in a request for a certain building. I hav my own list of PSs so I've never asked for that. They automatically give us rooms cards with charging privileges.

Check if the room is available and do not allow charging on the room. We would have allready made our requests for NON Smoking when we booked the room and building numbers/area.

I always whisper "Is it possible for an upgrade to ...." whatever room / view" I want...I whisper it cause I feel like Mission Impossible and it seems to make the CM feel like a SuperHero when they say "YES!!!" LOL!! Just my tradition!

I don't really have any room requests except for a non-smoking room :) The last time I asked for a print out of my priority seatings because I forgot to take the one I had made for myself at home. It took a couple of minutes because I had quite a few and the CM was printing them up individually.

Hi Betsy

Since we already have a Courtyard room booked/paid for, so do you think there would be any value in us asking for a upgrade?
I mean, we can't get any better right, unless its to a suite or something----which isn't very likely to happen anyway.

I know they can sometimes offer Concierge at an additional discounted rate, but after careful consideration,I don't think I am willling to part with the extra money.Especially since this vacation has cost us 5,000 already kwim?

I have my own lists of PSs. I filed it down to credit card size and laminated it, so its pretty durable. Just wondering, since so many of you don't ask for a printout on check-in, do you worry about mistakes during booking (ie. the CM booked the right restaurant, but the wrong day, etc.)? Thanks :sunny:

I get my room assignment, room keys and off we go - never thought to do anything else. I have my own PS's, book and pay for the room/view I like and hope the room is ready when we arrive. If not we check the bags and hit the parks.

I go for the 30 second check in!

'Hi, I'm Bavaria, here's my id and credit card, I'd like a non-smoking room in xxx if you have it; I don't need park passes since I have an AP, nothanks I don't need a resort map, etc. Yes, I have a car. No, I don't need any other info - thanks!'

If I need any brochures etc I get them another time. I love the fact that so many hotel companies focus on the 30 second check in and the Disney one is 30 minutes for some people by the time they get all of their info (and I understand that, especially if it's their first time)

After 50+ stays and years in the industry, I just want to get to my room and the parks!

If you booked CY at WL I have heard that you can upgrade to concierge for as little as $30 a night. If that is the case-it would be worth it for the food offerings alone

If they offer you an upgrade to concierge at arrival, you would have to determine if the food offerings would offset the cost.
If you don't usually eat a big breakfast, then the offerings should be enough (cereal, danish, bagels, coffee, juice).

When you book concierge in advance, you have a planning staff that can help you with your planning (PS, special gifts, inside tips on what not to miss, or what special events will be going on). The pre-planning staff is very good at getting those "hard to get" PS, like CRT on the day and at the time you want. No more early morning phone calls or large phone bills trying to arrange that.

If you spend a lot of time at the parks, you will miss some of the food offerings. If on the other hand, you spend a lot of time at the resort, then you can take advantage of more of the offerings.

The cocktail hour offerings (4:30 or 5 till 7 or so) are usually meant to be a drink (wine / beer) with an appetizer. Some people (lounge hogs) try to grab a huge plate and make it dinner. With 3 younger kids, we usually have early dinner PS, so we skip these.

We really enjoy getting a late after dinner drink and sitting on our balcony (while the kids fall asleep) or in the lounge, talking about our day or what we should do tomorrow. Again not enough to justify the cost for concierge (bring your own bottle instead).

Get they keys..go to the room, drop everything off and start having fun!

GoofyJoofy.......... Thankyou! Your post really gives me alot to think about ;-)

If I get offered Concierge for a 30.00 per night upgrade, that would be 180.00 for our 6 night stay.

I'll have to sit down with DH and talk this over.
We are already booked on the silver plan, and plan to use almost all our wishes for meals.......so we will be eating 2 sitdown meals per day (lunches & dinners) as it is.
But when I think about the extra money we have budgeted for quick breakfast items, drinks and snackies maybe I could justify the concierge expense.Hmmmmmm :scratchin

And then, when I think about the hungary, hungary little creatures my two adolesent boys have turned into........................... :scratchin :scratchin
