What do YOU consider a "quickie trip" to WDW?

A less than 2 hour drive (usually) for me, so a "quick trip" is deciding over breakfast that we want some WDW time, going, and being back before bedtime. A "short trip" is an overnight, typically driving over early Sat and back Sun afternoon. A "trip" is 2-4 nights. A "full trip" is 5-10 nights.

Um, I never, ever thought about it until this thread, lol! But yeah - those are exactly the terms I use and how I use them. Funny!

We've done several "quick trips", some as short as 2 nights/1 day, and some that were 3nights/4 days. And a couple in between. We live almost 2,000 miles away, but I have family in south Florida that we visit a couple times a year anyway, so it's often convenient to fly into Orlando and spend a few days there before driving down. To me, and ideal "quick trip" is 3 nights at a resort, 1 park day, 1 "other-stuff' day, and maybe a character breakfast the morning we leave. Just enough time to get my Disney-fix, not so long that we get fatigued and cranky :)

Quick: 3 nights 2 park days (drive friday, parks sat-sun, drive home monday) we live about 8 hours away
Long: 9 days (2 travel days 7 park days)
Our average: Sat-Fri (5 park days)

To me, a quickie or "drive-by" trip to WDW is a 3 night stay with four park days. To DF, it's more like a 1 or 2 day hopper with an offsite stay somewhere in Orlando.

What do you, personally, think of as a short, but doable trip to WDW. A long weekend? Four days? One day in conjunction with business in Orlando?

What do you consider a "quick trip" and what do you consider a "long stay".
.

We do 'short trips' often since we usually have APs in hand.

We always stop by the MK for the day after getting off a cruise ship that docks in Port Canaveral, before we catch the latest flight home. Six - seven hours in a park is better than none when in 'the neighborhood'. We do the same when flying in the day before a cruise, only we will catch the first NS in the day prior. Depending on vacation time, we'll often throw in 3 or 4 nights pre cruise. I have to connect 'somewhere' for upcoming cruise in January out of San Juan, planning on tacking on a few days prior to enjoy the parks.

Shortest stay that was focused entirely on the parks was 2 nights, 3 days and was way too short! We had SWA points that were going to expire.

We tend to do multiple 4/5/6 night Disney stays, then head to Universal/cruise/beach for a few days.

I wouldn't get bored with two weeks at WDW, my family is not so enamored lol.

We live in North Carolina, about a 9 hour drive. We did our first "quick" trip this past November for 1.5 park days. We had gone to visit family in Hilton Head (conveniently exactly halfway between home and WDW), then drove to WDW for a half day at MK (just for MVMCP) and 1 full day after that. We had breakfast at Kona the next morning and were on our way home less than 48 hours after we'd arrived.

A "normal" trip for us is four park days. The longest we've ever stayed is six nights and those trips have been split between WDW and Universal.

The various perceptions of "short" and "long" were kind of why I started this thread. I used to think 4 park days was a good number. Crowd levels changed that. Now, I consider it a "short stay". My Fiance' on the other hand, was sort of bored during my carefully planned, nine park day trip last October and suggested our next trip be a "drive-by" only to see what is new and head to other Florida destinations. We are "compromising for our next trip in about 3 years. I plan to take some of the "sting" of the trip out by saving up for it over time a little each week. I really don't want to have him adopt the same "been there, rode that already" attitude that occurred on the last trip toward the end. Apparently, after a four year hiatus, once on each ride was pretty much enough.

That's about how we feel as semi-locals, too, which is also why day trips work for us. Honestly, if we get our 3 FP+'d attractions and a meal in, we feel like we've had a good day!

We live 2.5 hours from WDW; our normal trip is a Friday-Sunday. A long trip, to me, is anything over 2 nights.

Having been born and raised in FL, I've spent many weekends in Disney but because of our proximity, I've never spent more than 4 nights at a time!

I live in NJ- 17 hour drive to WDW. 2 1/2 hr flight, I have flown down once with my family about 20 years ago. The last 2 times ( upcoming September being my 3rd) time driving down. We stayed about 7 days with 6 day park hopper. For us, I would consider a long weekend but FLYING DOWN. Maybe a Thurs-Mon early flight Thursday morning, late flight Monday evening/ night.

3 days or less. We do this often for long weekends, particularly in off season or during special events

I'm a 2:15 plane flight away. If I have an annual pass - a quick trip is four days, three nights (with four park days). No annual pass - five days, four nights is a quick trip (with 5 park days). Standard trip is 9 days, 8 nights - though that's likely only 7-8 park days. I'd love to go longer at some point in my life - but right now I'm working and being gone more than one work week is tough.

We've done two "short trips" that were only 2-3 nights in an off-property room with only one park day (once at Epcot and another at MK). We made sure that our non-park days were still filled with Disney magic by visiting Downtown Disney and eating at a resort restaurant ('Ohana, Boma, Chef Mickey's). It's only a five hour drive for us, so a short weekend to get our Disney fix is doable.

Our quickie trips are usually Monday through Friday with a 5 day ticket (same price as a 4 day on UT). Hopefully a room only discount at POFQ in value season and we use ME rather than hiring a car. Don't like paying more for weekend nights. I probably wouldn't pay for a plane ticket for less than four nights.

We're on the west coast of Canada, so getting to WDW is expense and time consuming. So for us a quick trip is around 10 days and a long trip is 4+ weeks.

We live a 2 hour flight away, so for us a quick trip is 3 days/2 nights, when we fly down early Friday morning and fly back late on Sunday, with typically 3 parks visited. Our normal full length trip is 7 - 8 nights, but some day I dream of going for 2 full weeks.

We are flying from Pennsylvania so our trip in November is a quick trip ( 3 nights and 4 days) in my opinion. Anything over 7 days is long.

We usually head over around 9am and are home by 1pm for naptime:) 8 miles door to door!

I come from Wisconsin but travel twice a year or more. I would have to fly. A "quick trip" would likely be part of a longer vacation in Florida.

Same, on all counts. If I am paying for my family to fly to FL we are staying there no less than 7 nights.

For me a quick trip is just one park day. It is a 6.5 hour drive to WDW for me and that is the quickest trip I have done. Leave after work on Friday and arrive at midnight. Up early and hit 3 out of 4 parks, only a few attractions in each obviously and in bed around 10pm. Up early and back on the road by 7am so I can rest in time for work on Monday.
