What do you collect?

Anything for Japanese Anime(working on a female Vash costume as we speak)
DVD's, especially tv shows(BTVS,Angel,Smallville and Supernatural to name a few)
Doctor Who paperbacks(especially 9 and 10)
Books
Barbies
HP,LOTR,Narnia
Sci fi anything(already on the hunt for some Star Wars figures)
Comic Books and comic based DVD's

As a child I collected anything Star Wars and Gone with the Wind dolls. I still have those collections but no longer add to it.

As an adult my taste has changed a bit and now DH and I collect classic Mustang cars. We're up to 6 with more on the wish list.

Coffee mugs and magnets from the places I have traveled.
Coach purses
Longaberger baskets

My hubby and I collect antique scientific instruments, like microscopes, compasses, surveying scopes, sextants & octants, telescopes, static electricity instruments, surgical instruments. We have some beautiful pieces and some real junkers.

I've been trying to collect my thoughts for years now but everytime I think I have it together something would come along, smash my dreams and cause my thoughts to scatter again.

Now that that "something" is out of the picture I should do better with my collection ;)

I collect Disney Christmas ornaments and Yankee Candle wax tart burners.

Sports memorabilia, mainly hockey and baseball. I have 2 game-used Shjon Podein sticks from when he was a Blue--the cool thing is that when he played in the NHL, he wrote the game # and the opponent on each stick, so I know that one of the sticks was used in a game against the Wings and the other was against the Blackhawks.

Beyond that, I've got a bunch of autographs; the coolest one of those is on an Andy Van Slyke-model Louisville Slugger bat. My brother attended a Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp a few years after my parents got the bat for me and, unbeknownst to me, had AVS autograph it to me personally. I was thrilled, 'cause I've had a crush on him for (God help us) 24 years now. :scared1:

Christopher Radko Christmas ornaments and I use to collect Precious Moment figurines, (when they first came out) I have 18 of the original 21 with no mark. But I have a few hundred total.

Dolls: Vintage Barbie, Madame Alexander and Gene (though I've slowed down considerably in the last few years - started running out of room)

That's the only real focused collection, though I have about a dozen small artistic stylized cat figurines by a German artist (they have some at the Goebel shop at Epcot but DH brought most of mine from Munich) and a few others.

We have a pretty nice selection of Thomas Mangelsen wildlife photographs on our walls, too, so I suppose that counts.

DH gets into all kinds of stuff. He has all the Chevron cars on shelves at his office. He bought all the Cars matchbox scene sets and cars, and he has a bunch of Disney egg-shaped toys we found in Japan. At one point he had all the Star Wars McDonald's toys and the Star Wars Lego sets too. He likes toys. :)

My big collectible is Scottish Terrier items. I also collect Precious Moments figurines--I love the new Disney line. Hubby collects comic books. Our Disney stuff is primarily Donald Duck and Lady and the Tramp.

I was working on a nice collection of Disney mugs, but then they stopped making the style I collected. Oh well.

The only thing else I collect is books. If I ever have a surplus of disposable income (yeah, right...dream on, educator), I'll be picking up some of my favorites in first editions.

This is DHs collection! He loves collecting the little people sets! We scour garage sales, flea markets, estate sales and antique sotres for them! Once he gets doubles off to EBAY some go. Our antique mall here in the area is closing and we snagged the FISHER PRICE TUDOR House with accessories and people from 1970s for 2.50! :earseek: it was in great condition! needless to say he was happy!

WOW! I'm not the only DISer who collects these!! :teeth: I also recently bought the blue/yellow Tudor House at a sale, though mine was $15! I also love hitting rummage sales, and I also attend "ToyFest", which is a toy-orientated 2 day festival in East Aurora, NY in August. They have an old Fisher Price toy sale there (in past years they have, not sure about this year), and I go NUTS buying every last part I need to complete sets!! It's the best! :cloud9:

Here is many of my Little People in a giant pile (quite a few are missing, I have even more than this!) :teeth:

Here are some of my sets, displayed on shelves in the kids's room! I have many, many more sets not shown here:

They are great toys to collect - durable, tons of play value, and just overall very cool!

Dust. I try to collect things but I don't like clutter so I end up getting rid of any collections I start. There is nothing I'd want to collect and have hanging around the house everywhere.

I collect dragons (stuffed, statues and prints...not real dragons :goodvibes ), fairies and movie scripts.

I collect penquins, hockey stuff... if I can combine the two its a bonus!

Of course I collect way too much Disney stuff, especially the stuff from Zawadi Marketplace!

I also collect music boxes.

My house collects junk, spare parts for things we don't own anymore, and dust bunnies that scare the dog but keep the cat amused.
