What do you carry?

Or more precisely, what do you carry things in? I'd prefer a backpack I think but see many of you here use a waist pack or fanny pack.

What do you carry?

Most importantly perhaps, do they allow a backpack on the rides?

Thoughts?

Thanks much
Michael

When we go, there is generally one backpack, one fannypack, and one camera bag (I have a digital video camera that I carry around) for 6 people. It really is not heavy, but it holds our wallets, cameras, ponchos, etc. We jsut switch off who carries it. I have taken it on every single ride in Disney. Just put your legs in the arm holes and you can be hands free and not have to worry about it on anything. On Splash Mountain, I just put my feet under the bag so that it is not touching the floor and it stays dry that way. We use the fannypack to store glasses and sunglasses when on certain rideswhere glasses are not a good idea. I prefer the backpack personally, since you can always have it on you and not have to worry about it being smooshed on rides like rnrc or tot.

I use a backpack and I've never had trouble with it on any of the rides. Mine is fairly small but I have seen people with much larger ones getting on rides as well so I don't think it is a problem. :)

I have a backpack that I use.... it's a tiny one but it's big enough to hold a camera, wallet & water bottle

I prefer a nylon purse...usually purchased from Old Navy. One with a long strap to wear across my chest. I stash my camera/wallet/smokes/gum in it - usually it's big enough to hold my water bottle as well.

If my fiance insists on brining our digital video camera - he'll have a back pack and haul it around in that.

I carry a backpack. It holds my wallet, camera, rain poncho's, etc.
I have never had any trouble taking it on rides with me. On the wilder rides (i.e. - Thunder Mtn) I put the pack on the floor and put my leg through the strap. Works like a charm.

I only take a small bag to carry camera, sunblock, water bottle etc. Anything else, eg a change of clothes for very wet rides, I leave in the lockers st the park.

 PS, I'm from Britaian. What's a fanny bag??!!??

Hi Verity!

A fanny pack is a pack worn on a belt around the waist. :)

And it is what I like to use too. I have my camera, my poncho, and all of my emergency supplies - ibuprofen, stomach meds, lip balm, bandaids, etc.

We also see to carry one back pack for the 6 of us that has cameras, etc in it. It seems to work well for us. :)

Thanks Beth!! At home we call them bum bags, although I don't know why!!
Verity.

I bring with me as least as possible. Usually just the digital camera and cash. I hate carrying things around in parks. It's too hot most of the time to be lugging around a backpack.

We like to travel light in the parks. I see lots of people with backpacks, so I'm sure it won't be a problem if that's what you want to do. We just prefer not to have anything to keep up with.

DH and I each wear a fanny pack. In mine, I carry the park passes, my room key, my cell phone, and essentials (mole skin, ibuprofen, antacid, Shout wipes, anticeptic wipes for hands, bandaids, sunscreen).

DH carries his room key, his cell phone, money, and the camera.
Since he has more room left over, he gets to keep anything else we need.

I always have a fanny pack. This year is the first trip with no diaper duty, wahoo! But I think I'll still have to take a backpack with extra clothes for the water rides, but I'm happy to do that since we use to have to skip the rides altogether!

What we carry varies from trip to trip. Last trip all days we carried a backpack and some days we had the video camera too. The backpack carried batteries for the camera and the walkie talkies, rain ponchos, regular camera, walkie talkies, usually 6 rolls of film, pennies and quarters for the presses, tissues, Advil, Immodium, Neosporin, Bandaids, 2 changes of socks, 2 shirts in case either of us had to change, tampons, glow/blinking jewelry, my laminated self made guide to the parks, cereal bars, chewing gum, a clean washcloth in a bag, water bottles, and tiny wearable personal fans. That was a lot of stuff, but 95% of it got used at some point. We wore sunglasses and hats everyday.

This coming trip we are praying for no rain. December shouldn't be as hot at late September was last year. I plan on traveling much lighter and using the lockers at the parks. The fee is worth it. I determined that the last day we were at the parks. lol

Our carry around bag this year will have a camera, 2-3 rolls of film, batteries for the camera, Advil, glow/blinking jewlery, pennies and quarters for the presses, and our self made park guide. Rain ponchos will be carried only if the weather stinks. I hope it's good this time! We will take a second bag to leave in a locker with warmer/cooler shirts, a change of socks for each of us, various travel meds, and whatever else seems appropriate.

I believe in being prepared. But, I also believe in travelling light. Not that you can always tell that. lol Mickey

I use a Cell Phone Wallet!;) It holds my Cell Phone and opens up to hold cash and credit cards.;) I also carry my Digital Camera and use my Pockets for other stuff!;)
