What do you call your midday and evening meals?

evening=dinner or supper, but mostly dinner

I love that song, but I have to admit, when we're not singing we call it dinner (and lunch at noon).

I call it lunch and dinner. My grandparents who are from Georgia call lunch dinner and dinner supper.

Over in Yorkshire we have Dinner around 1pm and Tea about 6pm, which was very confusing when I first start talking to my best friend from Florida!

Just curious for those who call the mid-day meal dinner and the evening meal supper....I am thinking about the common phrase 'let's do lunch' (meaning enjoying a mid-day meal together)...do you use that or do you sat 'lets' do dinner'...if so, I imagine it could confuse some people...

I have always said dinner and supper. Lately I have been saying lunch and dinner since no one up here seems to know the "correct" way to say it.

DW and I say lunch/dinner my mother calls the meals dinner/supper

How about lunch, dinner and supper!! Lunch is mid-day, supper in the evening and on Sundays, dinner replaces lunch...it's usually a big meal after church (bring on the fried chicken!)! Confused yet??!!?? BTW, we live in Texas.

Growing up we also called Dinner "Supper. I grew up in south also

My mom, who is from Alabama, argues with me that I call them the wrong thing. She calls lunch dinner and calls dinner supper.

Don't you know that your Mama is always right?? It is dinner and supper.

PoohandWendy - Well..... you see.... if I'm at work or shopping or vacation, we will then take a break and grab some lunch.... Dinner is the big noon time meal, lunch is on the road.
