What do you call your Grandparents?

Maternal: Grandma and Grandpa
Paternal: Ma and Pop. (It was Mama and Papa when I was a child.)

I called my grandparents on my dads side mamaw and papaw. On my mothers side I don't remember what I called them as a child, they didn't come around very often.

DS calls my parents nana & papaw and calls DH parents granny & grandpa. He also refers to my grandparents as grandma hair (she is a hair stylist) and grandpa.

I had two Grannies. To differentiate when we walked about them, they were Granny "Smith" and Granny "Jones." But if we talked TO them, they were just Granny. One grandfather was Papaw. The other name I have yet to hear anyone else use. He was Popsey....pronounced pop-see. He was the one and only Popsey in our family.

Honest to goodness....my 3 kids (ages: 15, 9, 5) call my in-laws:

Ding-Dong (the grandmother)
Clyde (the grandfather...his name is Steve)

:lmao:

OMG!:rotfl::rotfl:

I was looking for a grandmother name for myself but jeesh I HOPE to god it is not Ding Dong. Although we have friends who call their grandmother "moppy"

I really do not want one of those granny sitting in a rocking chair names. I was thinking of "mimi' Anyone have something that I won't be embarrassed by when my GK's scream it out in a store?

As I posted before, my kids call my daddy (had to do it;)) Pa, and so does my younger sister's son. My 20 yr old nephew is not my father's biological grandchild, but he might as well be (my older sisters were 8 and 7 when my parents married). He calls my father "dude." Always has-I guess because Full House was big when he was a little boy, and that is what Michelle called everyone!

My parents are: Nanny and PawPaw
DH's parents are: Nana and PawPaw Jerry (DH's stepdad, his father is deceased)

All my Grandparents were deceased before I was born.

My friend's kids call their grandma "Fluffy" (the GM came up with that name)
My sister's kids call their other GM: "GG" (I think that is cute)

Grandparents are such a blessing, I always tell my kids how blessed they are to know their GPs.
