What do you call them?

Where I work we have recently been able to add domestic partners (same or opposite sex) to our health insurance. My SO has a name that can be either male or female. So, when I went up to HR to add my domestic partner to my health insurance, I'm quite sure they are thinking I'm a lesbian. :lovestruc It doesn't bother me though as I don't think there's anything wrong with being gay.

While I definitely don't think you're too old to call him "boyfriend", if it makes you more comfortable, I'd call him your "partner" or "better half".

I google it because I could not think of anything and it said companion in there. That sounds kind of good.

I don't know. When I hear the word companion, I think of two things: pity date or paid escort. Sorry.

Partner sounds good. Then again, like someone else said, that could make people think that he is in business with you. I'd introduce him by his name. Those that know you will know who he is.

It's an interesting question that you've brought up. I have been to parties where one person in the couple will introduce the other as their friend. In some cases, the "friend" is a romantic partner and, in others, they really are just friends.

Just say, "He's MY MAN!" That introduction will clearly explain the status of your relationship.
