We've usually stayed off site and brought my big old mac book. then one year we got by on just my iPhone. But I think I'm buying a new Nook that's a tablet (I don't know how good). So maybe I'll just bring that. what do you bring?

All of us have smart phones. They are the only electronics that we bring in the parks with us. We bring our laptop on vacation with us but not to the parks. And I bring my Kindle but again, not to the parks.

I do not see why you would need anything other than your phone at the parks. Why would you bring a tablet or lap top ?

My husband and I have iPhones - that is all we take. We don't allow our children to bring their iPods or DS-es into the parks.

nothing more than my smart phone goes to the park.

We may take the laptop/ipad on vacation, but they never leave the room.

We just take our iphones.

I have seen people in the parks taking pictures and video with ipads and can't figure out for the life of me why they would want to lug that around:confused3

oops I mistitled this as parks. I meant on vacation with you! I just bring my iPhone to the parks. LOL at me taking my mac book to the parks. I meant do you bring your laptop for planning.

I haven't been since the advent of all things being on your smartphone. But I have a Nook HD (which is what I assume you're thinking of buying) and the My Disney Experience App (which is I believe a must these days for WDW if you're bringing in electronics) is not compatible with it. I'd also hate to carry it around all day to be quite honest. You're probably better off with your smartphone.

the MDE app isn't compatible with the Nook HD? But you can still get on the MDE website before you hit the parks, right?

it is kind of nice to be able to watch a movie at night after the parks on the laptop or Nook

We don't have smartphones to carry in the parks. As for just on vacation, my dh takes his ipad and I take my Kindle Fire but we would not take those in the parks. Our oldest dc have cheapo tablets they might would take but they never have before and our littlest don't have anything. Oh and our oldest take their Kindles for reading on (they are just e-readers).

I take my iPad on vacation, but it is pretty much only used in the room, I leave my macbook at home I see no need to travel with a laptop since we all have iPads. I have to say though, even before we had iPads I never traveled with my laptop seems like to much to lug around unless it's absolutely necessary.

In the parks all I carry electronic wise is my iPhone and a portable backup charger for emergencies.

I usually bring one of my eInk readers such as the Kindle Paperwhite because I'm one of those terrible people who likes to read while waiting and I don't like reading in the sunlight on lcd screens. Then I bring my phone.

Use to take laptop on vacation till I got an HP tablet, then took that. Now I have iPad mini and take that instead.

From what I hear, an iPhone charge doesn't last all day in the parks. I better start looking for a back up.

iPhone/Android only into the parks. I take my laptop with me to keep in the condo and the kids take their iPads and DSs.

I do allow them to take their DSs into the parks as they have never given me a reason to worry about losing or dropping them (two teens and one pre-teen). They say that they get a lot of "connections" while in the parks with other kids who have them. And it keeps them occupied in longer lines.

Ipad minis totally sold out at Target and I'm not ready to pony up Apple prices so the Nook HD it will be. I'll be so glad to get books from the library again. and it will make me leave my laptop home on vacation, yay!

Don't forget you can price match the Target mini price at Walmart.

People have been very successful pm'ing with both Walmart and Staples. There is also a $20 off coupon in the Staples flyer for this week and can be used on the ipad mini :)
