What do you bring in the parks?

Hi everyone!

This is the first time I will be traveling to DW WITHOUT an infant - woo hoo! I will have a 7 and 4 year old with me. Since I do not plan on staying at each park from open to close, I decided I wasn't going to bring our stroller on every park day.
Now I'm curious......where do I put everything I bring into the parks? Normally I bring a lot of bottled water (since we are going at the end of August, we will need a constant supply in order to stay hydrated in the heat), rain ponchos (a must for this time of year), and snacks. Should I bring the stroller every day 'just in case' one of the kids need a break and just stuff a small cooler with all my supplies in it? Or can anyone give me a suggestion of what you bring to the park if you have kids that do not require a stroller?

My husband and I bring a camelback. That way we have a large amount of water. We fill it up at night and put it in the fridge to basically freeze for the next day. it was nice because we could still put the rest of what we needed in the bag too. If we had to fill up again through the day we would find a poor water fountain that wasn't so crowded and fill up that way.

I'm an over packer and that extends to my bag for the parks. I use an Adidas sling bag.
It has loads of space for all my "necessities" and extras too.

We have kids that are 7 & 4 as well and we bring a backpack with snacks, ponchos, and britta water bottles (which have a filter that the water gets filtered through as you take a drink) which like the previous poster fills with ice and water and leaves in the fridge at night.

We only didn't bring the stroller for half a day at Hollywood Studios at night. For the most part they did pretty well, but there were a couple of instance where the 4 year old had to be carried and got a little whiney about walking.

I took a good sized backpack last July. It held ponchos, sunscreen, autograph book, small wallet, one or two water bottles, sunscreen....we bought waters as needed to try and keep the backpack from getting any heavier.

This is what I bring:
  • Small point and shoot camera.
  • Phone
  • Credit card
  • Driver's license
  • $20
  • Gum
  • Maybe a blister band-aid or two
  • Suncreen
That's it. I have never had a need for anything else.

We use a backpack also though we do not carry large amounts of water just a few bottles to get us started.

I would keep the stroller handy. You might find the little one may need it with all of the walking. Kids vary. Our daughter had leg pains in the middle of the night so we used a stroller after she was 4.
