What do you actually get at resale closing?

We just closed on our first resale contract today and got a pretty simple email. In the email it seemed to say a hard copy deed would be mailed to us in 2-3 days (correct?) and member documents electronically within 30 days (are these from Disney?) Is that it? I knew I wasn't getting fireworks but it seems strange not getting any paperwork immediately finalizing the transaction.

Again, wondering what formal paperwork/documents you typically get at closing if any.

You should get the backpack. Email your guide if you don't get your backpack. If you paid that much, you should at least get your backpack!

DVC may send you a DVC Member magnet or similar trinket. I think they still do that for first time resale buyers. We got one with our first resale purchase. Nothing after that for subsequent resale contract buys. Welcome!

Well that would be exciting. I wasn't expecting any swag from Disney!

I guess I was just expecting more formal paperwork at closing. :)

There have been reports of resale getting the magnet. Other than that, nothing special. Even direct it’s the backpack and magnet but not much fanfare with that either

Again, I wasn't really looking for swag. I was just surprised I didn't get any finalized closing docs or paperwork in the email and wondering if it was typical to get a hard copy deed 2-3 days later.

Haha! I know. I was just sharing that even direct owners don’t get much. But the deed arrives later.

I remember buying my OKW contract and a month after closing I got some paperwork sent in the post, didn’t get that with AKV though

Thanks, it just seemed so weird! A pretty generic email with no attachments. I was like "this is it?" lol. I don't know what I was expected but sure didn't feel like I just bought or owned anything!

lol I bought resale, no back pack pretty sure!

Oh, def no backpack then! I bought resale before and after Covid. I never got anything in the mail from Disney except the silly magazine, which I think contains the legal notices.

One title company sent me the title, another didn't. You can search for it on the Orange County website and see it anyway, so I just printed that for my documents.

They sent me an email with my first contract, and I had to call to get it all set up. With the subsequent ones, sometimes I didn't even get an email.

My first purchase was resale and after closing all I got was an email from Disney telling me my new members ID and to create an account. Also got a hard copy of the deed from Mason title. I think that was it. I soon after bought 2 direct contracts so got 2 backpacks and magnets and a nice certificate with my blue card.. and received hard copies of my title insurance paperwork from Disney. It has been pretty minimal both direct and resale.

Bought resale during the shut down (why oh why didn't I go for more contracts then) - received nothing from DVC & took FOREVER for points to load but again during the shutdown. Then when they opened back up, I went Direct RIV b/c the points were so good initially - received backpack & magnets. Just submitted a VGF last week. Hopefully they will not take too long to get your contract loaded. For my 1st resale, I did receive an email from DVC once that finally happened. Did eventually receive title work.

I got a letter which I immedately posted on the refrigerator. It said congrats but I think the real purpose was to say don't count on any membership magic. (Sometimes you gotta throw your own party.) With direct, I got a few cool extras and an empty savings account. lol (Sometimes you gotta laugh even when it's not that funny. )
