In our past 3 WDW trips, I just pack juices and granola bars, we eat them at the hotel room, and off we go!
But DL seems to be another story, having everything so near. I don't want a sit down breakfast, just something to buy and have in the room, or maybe grab it in our way there.
So, what do you do? popcorn::

I try to stay in a place with a breakfast. Most don't have a lot, but a pastry and a apples is fine for me. Otherwise somwhat similar to you I eat a poptart while I wait for the gates to open.

All our trips have a tradition - ride POTC (or do MM in Fantasyland/Tomorrowland), then go to the River Belle Terrace for breakfast. We do this most mornings. The food is pretty good but it's the experience we go for. Nowhere else in the world can we have pancakes and eggs on the patio while watching the Rivers of America from the crossroads of Frontierland, New Orleans Square, and Adventureland. It's absolutely magical for us! :wizard: :cloud9:

In the past, we've stayed at the Candy Cane Inn (CCI) and the Fairfield Inn (FFI). With the CCI, they offer a basic continental breakfast and we went down early to grab and bring back to the room. The Fairfield Inn doesn't offer breakfast, but they have Millies and Mimi's nearby. We never ate breakfast there during park days, only on the day of our departure.

Both the CCI and FFI offer in-room compact refrigerators, so you can stash milk, juice, soda or fruit.

There is a Von's and Target w/in driving distance, so if you have a car you can stock up on breakfast basics. Von's also delivers, and this might be worthwhile if you have a large party, don't have transportation, or staying a long time.

I always bring things to snack on in the room, it's easy and no rush. But I need my fresh fruit and there is a stand on main street or by jungle cruise which I make sure to stop at and get some fresh yum!

I always bring food from home to eat for breakfast, but there are several options if you don't want to do that. Surfside Lounge at Paradise Pier Hotel, Whitewater Snacks at the Grand Californian, and The Coffee House at the Disneyland Hotel all offer breakfast items. In Downtown Disney you can stop at La Brea Bakery, Jazz Kitchen, or The Compass Cafe for breakfast.

Two things we do to save time on Breakfast are:
#1 We send down a package to the resort ahead of our visit, in it we pack things that will not come back with us, so no sense of packing it with the luggage. One of the things we pack are those single serving size cereals (different flavors) A nice quick breakfast
(You could just also pack them with your luggage if you wanted)

Good suggestions!! the River Belle sounds great. I'm staying at GCH, and will have a car, so maybe get someting from Target seems a good option.
If you have more suggestions, let's hear them! It's great to read someone else's traditions :wizard:

We stay at Hojo's and we bring cereal, breakfast items, etc. to have in the room before going to the parks.

I t depends on what time breakfast is, since I get to the park at lunch time. Dipping my eggo into a bloody mary is usually an option!

If there is time, and I want to treat myself, I'll get beignets at Ralph Brennan's Express in DTD. If I need something fast, I'll get a bagel or small baguette at La Brea right outside security on the DTD Side.

We like to spend as little time as possible on breakfast. We like to get to the parks for RD. We always have groceries delivered to the room. In the regular rooms the fridge is small so you can only put so much in it. We always have to get another 1/2 gallon or two of milk from the on-site store in the hotel selling these items. In general we get bagels, cream cheese, orange juice, instant oatmeal (using the coffee pot and just run the hot water through it), we have bannanas/apples delivered as well to take those with us as we leave for the park. I generally pack granola bars, small snacks, paper bowls, plastic spoons and cups and then use that empty space in the luggage for souvenirs on the way home. If we are in a villa then the fridge is much larger and we get larger size items (i.e, gallons of milk). We usually do at least one character breakfast, but we really like do the in-room thing and do it on all our vacations, just not Disney.

because we did 3 Magic Mornings and not a lot is open at that time. We brought cereal from home and had milk in the fridge -- we also had granola bars and some fruit. DH and I got coffee at the lounge downstairs -- the only place open super early. (I will say, I did really like at DLH that they had a free coffee service downstairs every day super early -- they don't have that at the Grand). Anyway, we would do an early (11:30) lunch on MM days, because we'd all be hungry early. We did River Belle once (I think they serve breakfast til 11 or 11:30) and that was great! I agree -- it is so nice to sit and watch the ROA, and that part of DL is my favorite anyways.

We also got a quick breakfast once at La Brea bakery -- kids really liked the scrambled eggs and fresh fruit and we liked the good coffee! We never did a sit-down breakfast though I think there are some good ones, but it works best for us to hit the parks early and take a break when it is super-crowded.

Oh, you will pay more for it than you would at Target, but you can get bottles of milk and individual cereals at Whitewater Snacks in the Grand. If you don't feel like driving, pick up some stuff there the night before, because it is not open before MM. Have fun!

Have fun!

We either get beignets and/or french toast sticks at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express or bagel-bacon sandwiches at La Brea.

Wow, that sounds yummy!!

They're all delicious! I love bacon on a bagel - no cream cheese necessary, especially when it's the thick-cut bacon from La Brea. I have them grill the bagel on both sides, too. I don't know how they have any bacon left, anyway, because the entire area smells like bacon as soon as you get off of the tram!

We are planning on bringing some Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwiches. If you have a microwave in your room you could do this. Also bagels/cream cheese, granola bars, yogurt, cheese sticks etc.

our hotel had free breakfast that sucked, but we ate it.
on our 1 MM day we grabbed the free junk and ate it along with some other snacks I had packed. At the end of our awesome MM we went to Liberty Bell.
That place was the best. The food was great and the atmosphere was even better. We will go there again if we make it back to DL again.

Bagels and cream cheese

Instant oatmeal (I bring a small hotpot for boiling water, some folks I know just run water thru coffeemakers in the room)

Those awful chocolate covered donuts you buy at the grocery - or coffee cake/danish (it's vacation after all!)

Cereal (DD10 actually prefers it dry, although I usually bring or pick up a milk; I let her pick out a sugary cereal that she's not allowed normally, to make it seem more like a vacation treat)

Hard boiled eggs (we drive down so we bring these with us)

Egg McMuffins or Bacon/Egg/Cheese biscuits from McDonalds (yummmmmmmmmm)

What I like to do, is usually the day before we leave for Disneyland, I make homemade blueberry muffins and wrap them individually so we can grab and eat on our way to the parks.

-I pre-cut fruit and keep it in a rubbermaid container and take sandwich baggies so I can put some fruit in the bags and take it with us while we're eating our muffins

-I also bring Starbucks Via coffee (don't even get me started on Nescrap), and run water through the coffee maker and take my via to go.

:thumbsup2

Oh! When all my fruit is done from the rubbermaid container, I take any food items I bought at Disneyland and put them in there so they stay a little fresher and they won't get squished!!
