what do Year of a Million Dreams CMs look like?

Thanks so much. I was going to keep a lookout for them but I had no idea what to look for!!! I thought it would be something with blue and white [YOAMD colors] though.

:) Hope I get to at least see them next week.

Like everyone said. Light blue oxford looking shirts, khaki pants or shorts, and a white vest if they are giving out a prize.

I have seen two of them with a straw hat on as well.

You'd think the odds would be in favor of us having seen something... we saw not one dream squad prize person or prize awarded. We saw a very FEW people with dream lanyards or ears. Other than that, zilch!

Do you think they cut back on the number of dreams awarded during the Free Dining Plan dates? Just a thought...

We are another family who never saw the dream team. Didn't even see anyone with ears or lanyards or fast passes. :confused3

Just got back last night. We saw hundreds of the fastpasses, and just a few ears and even fewer lanyards.

We were there for a week in December, a couple of days in June and a few days in August and we never saw the Dream Team and only a few FP's and ears in December. I saw even less of that in June and August. A greeter was talking to my mom one night when we came off POTC, though.

When I was awarded an autograph, the cast member had a blue sailor shirt and hat, and white gloves – don’t recall what kind of pants. He didn’t say anything, but he seemed to carry a lot of weight around there. Believe his name was “Ronald” - or something like that - hard to read his writing (big gloves). He didn’t seem to mind the rain either.

Mystery solved.

That's a 'magic moment', not a prize from the Disney Dreams Giveaway.

No. That would be illegal since the Giveaway is a legally-registered sweepstakes and Disney has committed to distributing their 1,000,000+ prizes evenly over the course of the 15 months the promotion runs.

What you CAN expect during free dining (think about it, it's a good business decision) is refurb attractions, refurb walls up everywhere, cut park hours, cut Extra Magic Hours, etc. But the YOMD is not affected by it.

Umm... actually that's a joke. :)
Sailor suit, no pants, big gloves, autograph, 'R'onald...remind you of anyone?
Oh well, you can't quack everyone up all the time.

There are an average of 125 Dream FastPasses given in Epcot each day, and 210 in each of the other three parks (haven't calculated DL/DCA yet), so it's more likely you either kept seeing the same people over and over, or you saw a whole group right after they'd won.

It's a shame they couldn't have created a way to distribute certain prizes at times when they would be more useful. It's so ironic to read about so many people who won Dream Fastpasses but didn't even use them because it was the dead season, whereas people in the summer would have found them so much more useful. Seems like they could have planned certain timespans for that type of prize, e.g. give away Dream Passes in July and Aug. and give away a larger number of hats or pins or something else in their place in Sept. Not too well-planned, IMO.
