I was just thinking of a few rides I liked as I child that I wished they would bring back. There was a submarine ride and then the gondola rides that crossed the park on the wire in the air.

Are there any rides, food, entertainment, or whatever that you miss or wish they still had at Disney World?

I agree with both of your choices of the submarines and the sky ride. Disneyland recently re-opened their submarines with a Finding Nemo theme. Unfortunately, I think it is out of the question for WDW though.

I was serioulsy traumatized as a child by that "20000 leagues under the sea" submarine ride. I was such a baby, when the siren thing went off and the "water" was coming in, I started crying and thinking we were doomed. My mom yelled at me and I never rode that again. I was scarred for life.
That was the only ride I was ever afraid of.
I do miss the Skybuckets. I loved those so much. I see the station and it brings back so many good memories. I also miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and the "If you had wings" (or was it "if you could fly") ride that is now Buzz Lightyear.
I have been going to Disney since about 1975 (I grew up 3 hours from there) and went on field trips in school (8th grade, grad night), my best friend and I even took a Greyhound bus there when we were 15! Then we moved and I didn't go back for a few years. Now my love is reborn and we have gone twice in the past year. :)

The beaver tails in Canada! (they were like fried dough-type things with sugar and cinnamon on them)

The original Spaceship Earth. The new thing weirds me out.

The ride that I think used to be housed in Test Track--Horizons, maybe?

The original Journey Into Imagination.

I miss Mr. Toad too.

Also, you are correct on both counts. "If you had wings" became "If you could fly" which became "Delta Dreamflight" which became "Take Flight".

river country!!! i went there when i was 11 on my first trip to disney and i had the best time

I never got to visit River Country, and I also wish they would bring it back, so I could see what I missed.

I was scared of the Submarine the first time I went too Jill. My second visit as a child, I learned to love it. lol

It's interesting to see everyone's answers. Some of these rides/things I don't know though. I went a few times as a child and then not again until I was around 30, so I think I missed a lot of things in between. I love to go several times a year now.

The pirate Ship in fantasy land, Journey to inner space, the country bear jamboree, to original subs, the drive your own boats (like autopia only boats), the Rockets way up over tommarow land.

Obviously those are all DL things, but they were what I grew up with.

Journey into imagination for sure. I miss Dreamfinder and Figment's old personality.

There was one part of DreamFlight I loved the most that they "sort of" but not quite recreated in other attractions. It made you feel like you were flying.

River Country had a "river" made of cement that we floated down on inner tubes... it was such a blast when people would get stuck in pools and whirlpools. Some impatient people would yell at others because of the log jams it would cause, but overall it was just great fun! I wish they'd at least recreate this one at one of the other parks... cement bottom and all.... none of the plastic tubing.

The train (properly installed and operated of course ;)) and trams in Fort wilderness. Those buses have no personality. The tram drivers were a hoot and if you've ever ridden the back of a tram from the parking lot into a park, take that experience and multiply it by 15 for the thrill of weaving through the campground roads.

Me too agree 1000% also the FT merchandise & the old Musketeer Mickey...soon my dogs will vote for the old kennels at all the parks...soon to be closed & "replaced" with one...geez if it ain't broke don't fix it :sad2:
