Hi,

We will be visiting WDW for our fourth time very soon. We have only ever been to a water park once and that was over 5 years ago. I cant remember what i wore on my feet and i am worried that the floor will be too hot to walk on.

Does any1 have any suggestions of what i can wear on my feet without having to take them off when i go on the rides.

Thx:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I bought water shoes from Target ($5 ea.) for the whole family. My kids are wearing their shoes now in our backyard pool, even that tears up their feet...

Nothing, I tough out any hot spots. I will wear sandals into the park, but then I put them in a locker.

Likewise. I don't wear anything on my gigantor piddies. I just brave the elements, come what may. The ground temperature is very bearable, even during the hottest days, in my estimation.

Once there, and you think it's a bit much, the onsite gift shop sells them. It's expensive, I'm sure, but it's a thought!

Have a great time on your trip. The water parks are terrific.

I am with the others, I wear flip flops into the park but then put them into a locker. I have never had a problem with the ground being too hot to walk on. If you are really worried though I would consider buying water shoes. You can find them at places like Wal-mart or drug stores in FL for just a few dollars. :) I think I remember a thread on here awhile back that mentioned not being able to wear watershoes on some of the biggest slide rides, and that the ride attendant would ask you to remove them and hold them when going down the slides. I have no first hand experience with that, and am only repeating what I read on another thread, so others might have more info on that!

I don't wear them but my Father (who is diabetic) wears water shoes. It is true though, as another poster mentioned, you will be asked to take them off if you are going on the slides.

Water shoes here. You must remove them aand hold them going down the high speed slides.
The pavement can get very hot in the mid day sun.
I was at an offste hotel pool a few years back. I went to the pool in the early am in my bare feet. Left the pool arround mid day and had to use the towel to walk on to make it back to the hotel room.

I wore the water shoes when I was walking around the water parks. When I was staying somewhere for a while, like the wave pool, I took them off. It worked out ok.

We always use water shoes but I recommend NOT buying cheap ones. The first time there we had cheap ones and the inner soles kept shifting from the water causing lumps that are too painful to walk on and pain to have to keep fixing. On our last trip I splurged on a pair for just under $20 and they are great. The only slides I remember having to take them off for were the big body slides, not the ones where you sit on tubes.

I totally agree about the cheap ones! The ones they sell at Disney have a nice glued-in insole and are great! I think they were about $14 at TL.

We got to Blizzard Beach and hubby bought water shoes $18! Ouch!! And guess what? None of us wore our watershoes at all cuz they have little water sprinklers/sprayers that are constanlty spraying over the sidewalks to keep them cool. All 5 of us went barefoot the whole day and never had not one problem with hot or hurt feet!! Couldn't imagine having to keep flipping them on/off to do the rides.

As I'm sitting here reading this thread my daughter called me on her break! She's a lifeguard at BB & said you only need to take them off on the body slides like stated in the earlier post. If you don't they will grip the slide & possibly send you head-over-tea-kettle & be injured. All the other rides you can leave them on & she recommends wearing them since you could easliy step on something sharp... & the bottom of the pools are fairly rough & can rip the soles of your feet open! Owie Owie Owie!!!! Since I don't have the nerve to go on that wild ride where you shoot straight down on your back, I get to leave mine on all the time. I paid $12 for mine 3 years ago & they are still in great condition & I bought them at River Country:( Wish it would re-open!

Thanx for all your ideas. I think i will invest in a pair of water shoes. Its worth carrying them down the slides if it means you dont get sore feet during the day.

Im so glad ur daughter is a lifeguard at BB. I was hoping that someone who worked there would give some input so thankyou!!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Dont worry, i remember when our countdown timer was around the same time as yours and believe me it has gone so fast.

Just think, when we are back from Disney and feeling really miserable, you'll still be able to look forward to your trip!!

I found some Speedo water shoes yesterday at Marshall's on clearance for $5 and they actually had my size. They are the nice one's with the insoles glued or sewn in. I was excited! :bounce:

We wear the Teva sandals. They dry perfectly. Walk in and out with them on. We like them better than the water shoes.
