Hey what did u think about when u heard that Lance was paying $20 million just to go up in space for a day. ( If i have my facts wrong plezzz tell me.)

I was kinna mad @ him to pay $20 millon just to go up in space for a day instade of doing sumthing more worthwhile w/ the money.

What do u guys think bout it?

Lance is going up for 9 days, i believe. Also i believe he has someone payin his waysthat they can make a tv special out of it...

I personally think thats its his decision whether he wants to spend 20 million or not to go to space. I would rather spend other things with my money, but thats his dream!!

I think its retarded..why? Because he's not an astronaut..theirs probably hundreds of aspiring astronauts who never get to make it to space, and that was their life long goal..but just because he's rich..up he goes!

He isn't paying for it. He has several different corp. sponsors who are paying the $20 million for him to go. I personally think that if he wants to do it, he should. He was given an opportunity to do something that has been a lifelong dream of his - would you turn it down?

And it isn't simply that he is rich, although that was the one of the reasons he is in contention to do it...other being that he is a celebrity. But he has endured months of tests and training, is learning Russian, and underwent heart surgery to accomplish this. He isn't just simply sliding in because of his money and fame - even the Russians have said he has been working non-stop to accomplish this.

I think that if this is a life long dream of his then he should have to go through all of the school that ANY person who wanted to be an astronaut would have to do. If you really think about it, if some corp. sponsers would pay for me to go up into space.. do you think NASA or ANYONE would REALLY put me up there?? no, because im not famous, and no one would care if i did go up there except for my family and friends.

I really have no problem with it. He's said that he's always wanted to be an astronaut, and he passed the NASA entrance exam before nsync became popular. And he has had to do a lot of tests and stuff...he was dropped in the middle of the forest to make sure he could survive on his own if the shuttle crashes or something. He probably is receiving some special treatment because he's a celebrity, but it's not like he just decided that he wanted to go to space; its something he's always wanted to do.

i think it's very cool...but it is up to him...like carrie said..he has gone thru a lot to be able to do this
