Im about to book my wedding at WDW and was wondering if they were going to send me some sort of information packet as to what im soley responsible for taking care of on my own, Ive also heard mixed things about the staff ?!? Im really nervous because I really want a Disney wedding and Ive heard from alot of people that they dont really keep in touch with you, I actually called last friday to start the begining process and got a machine, I still havent gotten a phone call back should I try to call again? Should I buy a wedding planning book also? or will they give me something that I can keep all my info in together?? Im already stressed out and my wedding is 14 months away! Should I be worried??

Disney Brides, what do you suggest?!? :scared:

If you are going to have a Disney wedding, I don't recommend getting a standard Wedding planning book...there's a lot of stuff in there that we just don't need. I am using a five subject notebook with folders in it to keep all my odds and ends in.
Here's how my process went. I called DFTW and Doreen Diehl called me back, she answered a bunch of questions, said they didn't have 2008 prices yet, but she penciled me in for my date. BTW you can't officially book most ceremonies until 12 months out, but CALL at 8:00 AM on 12 months out, cause I didn't get the time slot I really wanted, cause I waited a few hours...that's what having to work for a living will do I guess! :rolleyes1
Anyways, about a month ago, Doreen called me said they had the 2008 prices out, and then she emailed me the contract. It was 11 pages I think basically Disney covering their behinds (understandably, these days). We signed it, my dad filled out a credit card Authorization form, and we faxed it and mailed it back to Doreen. I faxed it because we wanted to get the Annual Passes (added to 2008 Intimate Weddings) for our trip last week, and save ourselves that money (kinda). Anyways, while we were at Disney, Tanis Armstrong called to introduce herself as our Coordinator and congratulate us. She emailed us a 20 page packet, with all the options for floral, cake, list of officiants, cosmetology, etc. We have to fill out the important pages and send it back by December --th for our March 18, 2008 wedding.

Anyways, I hope this helps, but Relax for sure! June is a busy time around there, everyone wants to get married in June...All I know is it was stinkin hot there last week, and that was only the first week of June, not even officially summer yet! Part of the reason I chose a March wedding - hopefully it'll be beautiful!

Good Luck and Congratulations!

Hi there,
If you haven't heard back yet and its been a while I would definately call back. I called in May and received a call back the same day. I also received a folder in the mail about a week later with a sample "Save the Date". photo/video options, rules/regs of locations etc...a lot of it I already knew from the Disney Wishbook online, but it was really neat getting it. My SM also sent a picture of the location I had chosed all set up for a wedding, so that I could get an idea of what it would look like.

Also, while a planner is not neccessary, and a ringed binder would definately suffice, I really wanted a planner. I'm using some outside vendors and my planner also has workroom for my guest list, seating charts, menu comparison, etc... so for me it has come in handy often (and I'm still 18 months out! lol) The planner I am using is the best I have seen (and I flipped through about 10-15! lol) Its called "Easy Wedding Planner, Organizer, & Keepsake" by Elizabeth and Alex Lluch (creators of weddingsolutions.com). I absolutely love the planner. (I also bought the pocket version to carry with me and make scribbles in...so my big one stays nice. I say my big one is the "Brain" of the operation...the little one is for indicision) But like stated above, a planner isn't neccessary with a Disney wedding, but if you want one...get it..you will use it :)
