Okay, so I am shopping around online and am seeing things for the wedding I want to purchase. For example wedding favors, wedding programs, save the date cards, unity candle and other great things. BUT does Disney provide these things for you? Or do they have Disney themed things (wedding programs, favors, etc.) that you can purchase from them? I saw from some other disney weddings people have had choc Mickeys for favors and they had little pearl mickey heads all over the unity candle. Also is STVS outside videography? and is Randy Chapman outside photography? Or are they both considered DISNEY, so you don't have to pay the extra charges. If they are from the "outside", how is Disney's photography/videography? Thanks in advance to anyone that could help!!

I can help with what I know...

The Save the Date packets were sent to our guest list by Disney.

We purchased our Unity Candle through WDW Floral, who did all of our arrangements. They had several to select from, plain white, plain ivory, or with all types of decorations.

We didn't use a professional videographer, and used Disney Photo Services so I'm not sure about outside vendor charges.

STVS and Randy Chapman are both non-Disney vendors. To use them, Disney will charge you an escort fee that amounts to $90 for up to three hours, and $30 for each additional hour. Both of those vendors are highly reccomended. I used Randy, and loved him. I know other brides who have used Disney Photographic services and have been very happy with the results. I decided to use Randy because it made me nervous that we wouldn't know who was photographing our wedding until the day of.

I also used randy and STVS which are outside vendors and I think that I got more for my money. I purchsed my place cards, etc from ebay so check out ebay. I also used Disney for other things like the unity candle etc. good luck::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Disney do carry a range of favours and they do an official Save the Date after you've signed your contract after the 8 month mark. I didn't want to wait that long so I sent out my own as part of a newsletter to all our prospective guests.

The Mickey icon Unity Candle can be got from Disney Floral and ofcourse you may using them already for your floral.

Disney will provide menu cards if you want them. I wanted everything to have the same theme so I made my own programmes, place cards and menu cards. I had my chocolate seashell favours made to also fit into the theme and then I made everyone a CD again to match the theme.

As Helen mentioned there are charges for using outside photography and videography and for some of us this charge has stuck and for others it didn't. For example I only had to pay a total fee of $90 without any add on hours even though I had both for 9 hours. BUt even if I had been stung by Disney for the extra hours it would have still been cheaper using Randy and Stan than Disney for my photography and videography and like Helen said, I also knew for sure who they would be unlike with Disney.

We too used outside video and photo for our November 2003 wedding (STVS and Jon Thomas Photography). We did not have to pay the escort fee since it was not instituted to well into our planning.

It was important to us to have the best value for our money and to have a good rapport with the vendors we'd be spending our wedding day with - and we felt extremely uncomfortable that with Disney you are not guaranteed a specific person and you wouldn't meet them until the day of.

So with the help of Andrea's book and message boards, I searched out our vendors and was extremely happy with our decision to look outside of Disney.

In terms of menu cards, programs, etc - if you want printed customized Disney themed items, you can work with Shelley at Impressions. She is the only vendor who is allowed to create custom items with licensed Disney artwork.

I created our save-the-dates, menu cards, programs, table cards, welcome booklets, welcome bags, etc - using the Disney Print Shop software. It was a great investment.

Here are some pics of what we did:
